how about that, rotoworld acknowledging what we knew ever since he played for Giants:

Craig Dahl is the only player listed as a free safety on the Rams' post-draft offseason roster.
The rest of St. Louis' safeties are just listed as "S", or as strong safeties ("SS"). Dahl started 13 games last season, although the majority of his starts were at strong safety. He recorded 98 tackles, two interceptions, and a forced fumble, and is currently the best safety on the Rams' roster.

all the best to Craig, who, at 25 has hopefully many more seasons to prove just how good he is (i wonder why no big college picked him up, he went to NDSU)!

The Big Sky knows who the great players are, it seems like they produce the most NFL players for FCS, at least have the most players who stay in the league for a while and produce when given a chance. Jared Allen, Aaron Smith, Reed Doughty, Craig Dahl, Kroy Biermann, Jeff Charleston, Michael Roos, Marc Mariani, Shann Schillinger, Tim Toone off of the top of my head and hopefully Chase Reynolds next year. Thats 4 pro bowlers in Allen, Smith, Roos and Mariani.

agreed Snow, not to mention guys like Tyler Roehl and Kole Heckendorf (who, right now is with Colts, his 5th NFL team in 2 seasons, and the one that stocks on white receivers, seemingly).

The Titans have a white safety(Nick Schommer)that was turning some heads last year, I think he was from NDSU too. Heckendorf has really bounced around a lot. The guy has prototypical size and good speed just can't seem to catch a break and crack a lineup.

Seeing more whites at the safety position is great but I wish we could see some white corners as well. Look at this article from footballoutsiders i found from 2007.

Jason David started for several years, but AIR was better at defending passes than he was, and we are supposed to believe not ONE white guy is capable of starting at corner? There were several other cornerbacks that gave up at least 10 yards for each pass thrown their way that year. My guess is they would have to come from the lower levels because I think there is only one playing FBS, Hardin for Oregon State.
