couple of observations...

great game by couble of white runningbacks:

Kyle Bell, who went over 120 yards with one TD already (halfway through 3rd quarter)

Adam Ballardbig bruising fullback, Navy sophomore... he was eating up CSU defense in big chunkloads... guys 6'1", 242 and runs lighter than that... he's had great games vs Army and Temple in their last 2 games, went for 167 and 191 yards... had 6 rushing TDs on the season

nice connection between Justin Holland and David Anderson for over 100 yards and with their young (JR)WR Dustin Osborn who has 2 TD catches so far

i really liked Navy linebacking unit, led by Tyler Tidwell (junior) (he wasn't on our radar so far)

black QB is really just an extra runningback...

Kyle Bell RB: 23-126 rushing, 1 TD
David Anderson WR: 9-126 receiving
Dustin Osborn WR: 2-30 catching, 2 TD
Miles Kochevar, S: 14 tackles

Tyler Tidwell OLB: WOW what a player... about 15 tackles, 3 sacks, QB pressure as well... other two white LBs played a good game as well

I was glad to see Bell and Anderson both have big games. The Rams need to tighten up their defense for next season.Caleb Hannie could be a good qb as he is very mobile and has a strong arm.He will probably be the starter next year.Kyle Bell will be even better now knowing what it takes to play a full season. The guy just has that star quality written all over him.As for Navy,Tidwell was a animal on defense.Ballard looks like another Alstott type.Too bad he will probably never get a chance to play beyond the academy.

yeah.. i really hope to see some of those guys in NFL... but i doubt that i will see more than one or two outta bunch...
Ballard has some time still, so people might notice this guy... although Eckel got shunned and he was a great runner

PS i think Ballard might be even better than Kyle was... he is bigger and Eckel did get a shot at NFL (token shot by Pats and Dolphins) so maybe Ballard will get that tooEdited by: backrow

How enjoyable was it to sit back and watch quality white running backs like Bell and Ballard. GENERALLY speaking, white backs' running style is more slash and straight line oriented, without so much juking. I believe this running style of most white backs works against them. Because most black backs are prone to juking and have more "fluid" hips, coaches and fans perceivethem to be more effective. They are flashier. However, jukes and moves don't necessarily translate into yardage. Remember, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line and if a back has good vision, can make a cut, and accelerate toward his goal in a straight line he will be successful. Bell is an excellent example of this running style. Now that I'm cognizant of it, I often see that a 4 yard run by a black back involving several cuts and jukes and may appear impressive is still a 4 yard run. However, the 4 yard run by the white back (all conditions being equal) may not appear so impressive because he may have made only one cut and taken a more direct route. Anyway, my basic point is that in general, the white running style works against whites because itappears less impressive than the style of most black backs.

Savor the white players now cause if they make it to the NFL their
posistions will be in the Gobi of Caste system: Blocker, practice squad
or special teams. I did enjoy watching mostly white players
excell during the game. And I must give credit to some of the
black players who performed as well during the game.
