College Hoops Season 2024-25

Some of the players on the Duke Team have been struggling with cramping in games? This is strange as most basketball players are not fat and they are used to running. Hope they get it fixed soon as it has cost them a game already against Kentucky that they should have won.

This Dunk By Cooper Flagg earlier this year shows just a glimpse of the highest elite athletecism & incredible hops by this young man. To
be that tall with great ball handling and the height plus vertical to dunk on anyone! This man will be a terror in a few more years. Can't
wait to see him doing this in the NBA. Cooper Flagg will be posterizing alot of so called magical athletes.

He takes off so far out off 2 Feet. Amazing athlete to go along with being the best college basketball player in the country as a freshman!

Duke beat number 17 Arizona last night 69-55. Flagg 24/6/3 and a couple of blocked shots as well. Kon Knueppel had 13/7/3. Didn't get to
watch the game, but viewed the highlights this morning.
Arizona has lost two in a row now. Losing to Wisconsin a few nights ago.
Nebraska upsets number 14 Creighton! Kalkbrenner 0-1, 4 pts. in 39 minutes?

Northwestern Forward NIck Martinelli is 4th in the NCAA in Scoring at 24 points per game! He also pulls down 7 rebounds with 1 assist
while shooting over 60 percent from the floor. One to watch going forward this season!

Duke vs. No. 1 Kansas tonight in Las Vegas. 9 ET on ESPN. Should be interesting. Kansas with Dickinson and Duke with Cooper Flagg.

Michigan State with their 2 White starters and 2 key rotational players beat a highly ranked and very black UNC team yesterday. Frankie Fidler being the standout with 13 points.

On the UNC side I want to highlight the mistreatment of junior Cade Tyson. He was one of the most sought after transfers after staring at Belmont for 2 years. Now he gets a pitiful 8 minutes per game and is a total afterthought. White athletes need to really choose wisely and avoid going to anti-White programs.

Good observation regarding Tyson, hope $ to ride the bench was worth it.

Watched most of the Duke/Auburn game last night. Number 9 Duke knocked off number 2 Auburn. Flagg started really slow. He doesn't shoot the three really well, but is a very good rebounder and generally makes good decisions when he has the ball. He's still just 17 until December 21st. He ended up 7/18 after going 3 for his first 11 and had 11 boards and 4 assists. I'm no BB expert, but he doesn't look like he's ready for the NBA. I hope I'm wrong.
Kon Knueppel only got 3 shots off and hit 2 for 6 points.

Apparently Auburn Coach Bruce Pearl thinks he's ready as he called Flagg a great player and something I forgot to mention. Flagg didn't turn the ball over one time! Very impressive for a 17 year old freshman. Meanwhile Auburn's All-American Johni Broome fouled out with 15 seconds left had 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Kansas Drops Sunday Contest at Missouri, 76-67

Hunter Dickinson had 19 points and 14 rebounds and the Jayhawks (7-2) have lost two straight on the road after falling 76-63 against Creighton on Wednesday night.

North Carolina's forward Cade Tyson came off the bench and scored a game high 23 points in 21 minutes for the Tar Heels on Saturday in their dominant, 93-67 victory over La Salle. Tyson is a junior transfer from Belmont/TN. University. The Tarheels play undefeated Florida tomorrow. We'll see if Tyson gets rewarded with a start.

I hope he gets the opportunity to CS. Carolina needs some outside shooting. Florida has several whites on their team. They did have the tallest player in college ball until they decided to red-shirt him. He is 7'9"Olivier Rioux frm Canada. They have several white foreign players.

CS, I’ve documented Tyson in this thread and the news/transfer one in the off-season. Tyson was a top 3-5 transfer target so it is criminal that he’s gotten buried at UNC. Whatever program he went to should have come with the promise that he’d start or get 25 mins per game. Only our guys get jerked around like this and I’m frankly sick of it.

Watching the UNC/Florida game and of course Tyson doesn't get the start. Not even the first man off the bench. As Booth mentioned Florida has several honkeys, but they're all sitting on the bench. There is one however playing now. I'll try to stomach the rest of this, but not sure for how long!
Carolina down 23-10 early. Tyson out there now.

Duke freshman Cooper Flagg 24/9/4 and 3 steals last night against George Mason. Flagg played his last game as a 17 year old. He turns 18 on Saturday as Duke goes to Georgia Tech.

Only knock I have on Flagg is his below average 3 point shooting. Not as big of a deal though as he can position himself to pretty much get any shot he wants inside the 3pt line.

D@%#. I'm getting old. Forgot about McNeely out of Texas! I remember watching him in the McDonald's All American game with Flagg. Didn't think he start his Freshman year at UConn. Like the physical game he plays.

Right. I watched a couple of unimpressive games and didn't think he was a number one pick, but he's a finisher, and great rebounder and passer. He's very young. He should still be in HS. He shot 2-5 last night from 3. Some improvement. Let's hope it continues.

Good news. If he continues improving from 3, sure fire 1st pick!

Nice to see Purdue's PG Braden Smith among the top 20 NCAA BB Players ranking as of now. Smith is currently ranked 18th.
UCONN's Alex Karaban, 10th, Creighton's Kalkbrenner 8th, Kansas' Hunter Dickinson 4th and Duke's Cooper Flagg number 1!
Has a 17 year old ever been ranked as the number one NCAA BB player? Amazing!

Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa improved to 10-0 on the season with an overtime win over Kansas State on Tuesday night. Bennett Stirtz finished with 22 points, including 8 in the OT session and the game-winner.

The game's high scorer was Mitch Mascari, who had 25 points on 8-10 threes.

Both Stirtz and Mascari are up-transfers from DII powerhouse Northwest Missouri State. How did they find themselves in the Mountain Valley Conference? Drake hired NWMS' coach, Ben McCollum.

A native of Storm Lake, Iowa, McCollum arrives in Des Moines after spending the past 15 seasons as the head coach at NCAA Division II power Northwest Missouri State University. While in Maryville, he won four national championships (2017, 2019, 2021, 2022) including three tournaments in a row (2020 NCAA Tournament was canceled due to global pandemic).

McCollum amassed a record of 394-91 (81.2 win percentage) at Northwest Missouri State and earned five NABC Division II National Coach of the Year awards, the most for a single coach in Division II history. McCollum also garnered nine Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Coach of the Year awards and was a 2024 Missouri Sports Hall of Fame inductee.

McCollum is just 44 years old. Drake won't be his last stop - hopefully, he continues to remember the type of players that have brought him such successes so far.

Princeton beats Rutgers and their two “top 3 draft picks” Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper. But I’m sure not one Princeton player will be in the NBA.
