Virginia just landed a very interesting talent, although it might not be the best fit ...

St. Thomas freshman guard Andrew Rohde, who led his team in scoring and assists this season, is an uptempo playmaker who thrives in the open court but isn’t (yet, at least) someone who digs in on defense. how will he adjust to UVA’s slow pace and defense-first approach?

Rohde averaged 17.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists for the Tommies (19-14), who finished fourth in the Summit League with a 9-9 record in their second season in Division I.

Earning All-Summit League first team and Freshman of the Year honors, Rohde scored 20 or more points 12 times this season, including five consecutive games to finish the year.

The 6-6 Milwaukee native was the third highest scoring freshman in the nation.

my hopes for a VERY White lineup for Gonzaga have darkened with the commitments yesterday of two “real” affletes. Nembhard, the younger and lighter skinned brother of a former Gonzaga guard of the same name, apparently has just enough melanin to be dynamic. Ike is black as an ace of spades, despite coming from the University of Wyoming. both are expected by many to be instant starters.

with the signing of Nembhard, likely to play the point, the Zags are probably no longer looking at Taran Armstrong. i think they missed the mark, but i'm just some dude in the internet who thinks White kids can play ball. Ike is a solid post player, so the amount of run in the rotation for Gregg, Huff, and/or Toohey is another question, especially if Watson comes back.

I've mentioned before here I an a die hard Saint John's fan since the Chris Mullin playing days. They have Ben coal black for about the last 30 years.
Rick Pitino comes in and already recruits a white 66 shooting guard from West Virginia named Chris Sisninski. . Ifind it strange that when they hired Pitino 9 of their scholarship players entered the transfer portal. There is a white 4 star guard out of Boston in the class of 24 Pitino is also after. Saint John's seemed to make the tournament every year with white players like Mullin, Robert Werdan, Matt Brust and Marco Baldi among some. Now in the last 20 years they have made the tournament 5 times. Any correlation? Hmmmmm.

Dalton Knecht to Tennessee. That should give Vols Vescovi and Knecht as starters next season in Knoxville.

Taran Armstrong, possibly the best young point guard in the game at 6-foot-5 or thereabouts, has apparently opted to return to his native Australia to play pro ball ... rumor has it that it had something to do with how the NIL rules apply to foreign born collegians, though i’ve no idea of the accuracy of this rumor. that being said, something caused him to turn down offers to play at Gonzaga, Creighton, Arizona, and several other high profile programs that offered the potential-transfer.

hopefully this decision works out well for the young man, as he has a VERY high ceiling. (he will, of course, be included on Chitwood University’s roster for the coming year. LOL)

Bummer I wanted to see him at a Big time program next season!

Virginia Tech has added forwards Robbie Beran (Northwestern) and Tyler Nickel (UNC) from the transfer portal. The Hokies also had two black players transfer out. With the addition of incoming freshman Brandon Rechsteiner (son of Big Poppa Pump), there should be ten whites on next year's playing roster. Hunter Cattoor is taking a super-senior year, and Sean Pedulla returns to make this an EXCELLENT team to watch.

reports say Hunter Dickinson is transferring to Kansas.

Grant Nelson, the poor man’s version of Chet Holmgren (and Chitwood University fame), has entered the portal. he’s being offered by virtually everyone.

Joe Girard III transfers from Syracuse to Clemson. The Syracuse "rebuild" looks like it's not gonna be pretty.

Meanwhile at Clemson, they should return starters PJ Hall and Ian Schieffelin along with contributors Alex Hemenway and Ben Middlebrooks. Adding Girard makes them a great team to follow even after graduating former starter Hunter Tysen.

Joe Girard III is the greatest scorer in New York Basketball History. He broke the All Time Scoring Record back in 2018. Yet Syracuse
has little respect for the guy! It's insane what our guys go through. Just like McClung who broke Allen Iversons State Scoring Record
yet most colleges and the NBA do not want these kids the majority of the time. It's criminal.

Good spot for Girard! He picked the right Tiger team. Clemson is extremely honkey friendly!

I would really like to see Hunter Dickinson have a great year at Kansas so he can enter the NBA Draft next summer in 2024. We
will see how it goes but we all know he has so much talent. Just the right system and he will show his skills.

reports are that Grant Nelson will be pulling out of the draft and focusing on selecting a new school through the portal, as i anticipated. Chitwood University is killing it. Nelson, and his impressive combination of size, skill, and athleticism is now the top available player in the portal.

Surprised no one mentioned Zach Edey returning for his senior year at Purdue. Even if you don’t root for him because he’s only half White, it gives Purdue and their other White players a better chance of being a top 5 team and maybe even winning a national championship.

Rutgers guard Paul Mulcahy is a late entry to the portal as a grad transfer. Kinda disappointed for Rutgers' sake, but he should feature as a solid starter for his next team. Kentucky has reached out early - he'd be an interesting backcourt teammate for CJ Frederick and the first time Kentucky could start two white players since roughly the Jim Crow era. Mulcahy had initially declared for the NBA Draft but was not even invited to the combine.

Grant Nelson is reportedly heading to Alabama to play for the Tide. best case scenario is that he shines in a highly touted, widely covered conference, where he will undoubtedly stand out like a sore thumb with his unicorn game and pale skin. worst case scenario is the ghetto locker room will freeze him out, as has happened to several White athletic bigs in the SEC in recent years, and he revolves into a three-and-D role player.

Cam Spencer, the sharp shooting, ruggedly effective two guard most recently of Rutgers has transferred to national champion UConn. he fills an obvious need as a perimeter scorer, and his defensive prowess should have him playing lots of minutes.

Paul Mulcahy, the point guard of Rutgers’ all-White backcourt tandem, still hasn’t settled on a team after entering the portal. he is a long, slashing lead guard who creates well for teammates and is superb both as a defender and rebounder. his combination of height (listed at 6-foot-7) and good feet is a nightmare for opposing guards, especially considering his knack for physical play without getting into “defending while White” foul trouble. he is a big “get” for any team needing a playmaker/leader at the point guard spot.

CJ Fredrick got out of the pot and into the kettle, leaving Kentucky for Cincinnati. not the kind of place i’d encourage him to go, but such is life. last season was dreadful for the former Iowa standout, and perhaps he regains some of his previous success with his third team.

Your breakdown of Nelson’s choice is spot on. Don’t know how that will work out!

UConns turnaround continues!
