This BYU vs Cal game is how ALL football games should look, in a fair world, based on merit.

This kid played at Cartersville HS in north Georgia. I still vividly remember the first time I saw him on TV. At a bar/restaurant and thought we were watching a Division II college game. He is the real deal and I think he will be playing on Sundays......

He will be! :)

Washington State is looking good up 14-0 at the moment. Max Borghi has 4 carries for 25 yards so far! This kid
for a freshman is already a stud and his athletic freakish ability is standing out on the field. Barring injury he should
have an amazing career. He should not be splitting carries but maybe as a freshman it is best. It's a big transition in
size, strength and speed from high school to college. He looks great so far!

Unfortunately, both Kansas and CSU bounced back this week and beat CMU and Arkansas, respectively.

Max Borghi with 9 carries for 45 yards averaging 5 yards per rush. Hope they can get him around 15 carries
a game in the next few weeks. He is so exciting and he needs to touch the ball more.

Cal didn't use Laird much at all. I think he had like 10 carries for 30 yards. Patrick Laird did
however have 7 catches for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Sad to see the starting qb for Cal getting pulled when he had the far better game than the backup
who the announcers couldn't stop raving about.

I don’t know why WSU aren’t rushing the ball much today. They’re up comfortably against San Jose State but have only given 20 carries to their two RBs used, Borghi and Williams, while throwing the ball 51 times and giving the QB 9 carries. Borghi (and Williams for that matter) definitely should’ve been fed the ball more today with such an easy game.

UCLA WR Chase Cota caught his first passes of his college career, hauling in 5 rec for 58 yds. He should only improve from here, and I see a future in the NFL for him.

For various reasons I was unhappy about many of the games yesterday. For one thing Northwestern could never get going against Duke and Thorson is clearly not 100%. Then I wake up to find Michigan State lost to ASU by blowing a 13 point second half lead.

Clemson barely beat a charging Texas A & M but leave it to WR Hunter Renfrow to make two big plays late. One was a long clutch catch and the other was easily recovering the on side kick at the end of the game. Renfrow never seems to be their main focus on offense though.

But what really bothered me was S Tanner Muse was pulled from the game in the second half. Up to that point Clemson was keeping A & M in check to a degree but once they took Muse out the defense couldn't stop any of the passes as the Aggies went up and down the field on them and Muse was never inserted back in even though the fill in safeties were awful? It is going to be difficult for him to get NFL attention if he doesn't see the field.

Two teams did themselves no favors on Saturday. G Tech gave up two kick off returns and generally looked half ass. RB Cottrell only had 4 carries for 20 yards. Shouldn't he be getting more touches? That team finds ways to screw up at the end of games. And Kansas State looked disorganized. Why do they keep inserting the black back up QB Delton who can't pass a lick? WR Schoen caught a nice TD pass from Thompson but was quiet overall for the second straight week. Their opponent MISS ST was led by running QB Fitzgerald who racked up over 150 on the ground. Their lone white WR Austin Williams caught a short TD pass but is not a featured player in their offense at least not yet. Probably never. Team is nearly 100% black.

Both WR's David Sills and Scottie Miller barely registered stats Saturday.

Elsewhere most of the super annoying teams won handily but the Gators got knocked off by KY at home no less. Didn't see it but my understanding is their hyped QB Franks had an awful game. The walk on WR Bouvier for KY caught a TD.

Speaking of a former walk on it was mentioned above that NC State's " WR Thayer Thomas went over 100 yards with a TD.

Utah squeaked out a win against N ILL as jitterbug Britain Covey went wild. That edge player Sutton Smith for N ILL is a real player.

There were some boring games yesterday. USC-Stanford was too blah to bother with and missing the second half of the late games I see Cal beat BYU. RB Laird showed off his versatility by catching some passes with ease. But BYU is now one of the snooze fest teams that just grind through games. They have some players of interest but they aren't must see TV. I like both Iowa and Iowa State but that game lacked sizzle because they play real defense as opposed to that fruit cake crap we often see out of all black defenses. I love good defense but the Iowa and Iowa State offensive attacks were pretty terrible. Still early for both of them but would love to see Iowa State knock off dreaded Oklahoma Saturday.

Michigan bounced back as expected and Ohio State just inhaled Rutgers. They play at TCU Saturday night. They can't lose that game and I don't think they will. Back up QB Martell as noted above put on another show. Another Big Ten team who impressed was Wisconsin. They have some stud white athletes on defense who can really fly to the ball. Also happy Eastern Michigan and speedster WR Matthew Sexton see above regarding his long TD pass, beat Purdue a caste heavy team.

A middling week altogether at least in my mind. Albeit some good defensive work by a lot of white players.

RB Max Borghi , see above, of WASH ST bares watching as the season progresses.

Wisconsin Native and current Western Illinois QB Sean McGuire threw for 270yds and 2TDs against Illinois. Completed 67% of his passes. Productive FCS career and 6'3 225. Should be in NFL camps next season.

Yale vs Holy Cross Saturday.....Zane Dudek of Yale is a must watch for us.....
True Sophmore badass RB.....1:00 Should be broadcast on one of the 600s on Direct tv.

I’ve been very disappointed the first couple weeks with the demotions, injuries and split carries of the running backs.....Let’s hope the season gets better.....We’re bound to find this years Laird at some point.....A sleeper will surface.

Nice to see Dayton continually pump out white skill players. They had a good RB few years back but blew out his knee.
