I'm excited. Some interesting dynamics are bound to play out.

I'm interested in seeing many of the teams I haven't yet seen this year: Cal-State Fullerton, Arizona State, Missouri, Nebraska, Rice, etc.

Some of these early games will be on ESPNU, starting with Ole Miss vs. Missouri at noon ET today.

I wonder if the College Baseball tournament would get more media interest if the teams weren't so overwhelmingly white. I'm sure it's purely coincidencethat the only college playoffs that are avidly followed are the two loaded with affletes -- football and basketball.

I agree with your point, Don, although I believe that ESPN (and ESPN2) televise most of the games from the Super Regionals on up.

Don, have you watched Miami(Florida) play this year? It appears that most of their "Hispanic" players -- the one's of Cuban descent -- are pure White: Yonder Alonso, Pitcher Chris Hernandez and a few others.

They do have a couple of black starting position players in Adan Severino and Jamile Weeks, but I think the media has wrapped the 'Canes in a "multicultural blanket" in order to mislead people.

They are beatable and, even though they appear to be White-dominated, I rather they not go all the way just so the "media" can tout them as a "victory for multicult."

Teams that have advanced to the Super Regionals:

Arizona
Arizona State
Coastal Carolina
LSU
Miami(FL)
NC State
Rice
UC Irvine
UNC
Wichita State

My sons team blew their conference tournament and missed out this year. He's only a frosh so hopefully he will get to a Regional in the next few years.

I don't post here about his team or season but his team is 100% white and he loves it. His school is mostly white and after 4 years at a very diverse H.S., he feels like he now knows what heaven is like.

The Final 6 Super Regional Teams:

Cal State Fullerton
Florida State
Fresno State
Georgia
Stanford
Texas A&M

It looks to be a GOOD Super Regional field.

To GWTJ,

I'm glad your son is in a good environment. I wish his team future success.

I'll be pulling hard for Georgia to beat NC State in their decisive 3rd game.

I will also root for UNC to close out Coastal Carolina.

You can DO IT Georgia!!

Georgia it is!!

UNC and Florida State as well! Both these teams are seeking their 1st National Championship.

A lot of White stars are going to be in the College World Series!

8 Teams are vying for the title. Place your bets!

Fresno State
LSU
Miami
Stanford
Florida State
North Carolina
Georgia
Rice

I'm betting on Georgia, Stanford, Florida State or North Carolina to go all the way. I would like that.

Is Howie Long's other son on the seminoles yet? If he is i might just pull for them. If not i would like to see Stanford go all the way.

"Is Howie Long's other son on the seminoles yet?"

I don't think so.

Today's Games

Stanford (1-0) vs Georgia (1-0) in the Winners bracket

Florida State (0-1) vs Miami (0-1) in the losers bracket

Should be exciting.

There's only 4 teams left:

Stanford (2-1) plays Georgia (2-0)

North Carolina (2-1) plays Fresno State (2-0)

I have a feeling that Stanford is going to beat Georgia to avoid being eliminated. We'll see.

I like all these teams (Stanford, Georgia and UNC in particular). 2 West Coast teams and 2 Southern teams; It should be great.

Stanford proved to be dangerous, but Georgia did get the victory.

Georgia is now in the Championship Series.

UNC had more late-game heroics to avoid elimination. They play Fresno again, and the winner will advance to the Championship Series.

Well, it's Bulldogs versus Bulldogs. It's supposed to start in 1 and 1/2 hours.

Referring to yesterday's game: That was BASEBALL

A very good game, indeed.

I'm glad this series has gone to a deciding 3rd Game.

Should be intense.

Congratulations to Fresno State!

They were on fire. They were simply relentless! The Georgia hitters made some contact, but it was almost always (hit) right to Fresno's outfielders. They got guys on base, but couldn't drive them in.

Susdorf, an outfielder from Fresno, is a player to watch for. For some reason, he was drafted in the 19th Round. He had a big RBI season, hitting with some power as well, and a respectable .340 + average. Watching him is like seeing The Science of Hitting in action.

Congrats to Fresno St. Them winning it all would be like a 13-16th seed in the NCAA bball tourney winning it all. Their run was simply unbelievable. It was great to see the underdog beat a monster team like Georgia especially after losing the 1st game.
