Coffee vs. MioEnergy / Morning Energy Boosters

Anybody here use Mio Energy water enhancers? I'm hooked on this stuff - I've been dependant on coffee my whole adult life in order to function at work, but since i've been using this stuff i haven't needed any coffee thankfully. Coffee gives me mood swings and disrupts my sleep and of course you have to keep increasing the amount in order to get the same effect which turns out really bad by the end of the week.

with MioEnergy, i don't seem to need to increase the dosage each day to get the same energizing effects like i do with coffee. Also, i haven't noticed adverse moods or sleep disruption, which is a amazing.

But what worries me is that it contains sucralose and some other artifical sweetener in it. I just read the sucralose thread but thought this might be worth a separate discussion -

what do you use for an energy boost in the mornings? Any decent coffee alternatives out there?

And how concerned should i be about the sucralose in the MioEnergy? I try to avoid splenda at all costs, and I didn't realize this stuff had splenda in it at first until i looked up 'sucralose'. I'm afraid the risks might be worth the price since it really has improved my quality of life.

Any advice appreciated !

I have an energy drink every morning. I'm hooked on caffeine but at least I gave up smoking. I like American Body Building Speed Stack. It's only 5 calories and works great.

I don't need something every morning but there are plenty days/nights where i need a boost after having to do a lot of work and trying to manage family life at the same time. Dynapep is the best from what I have found, they are expensive, 4 dollars for two shots but they work good. Otherwise I get the generic 5 hour energy shots for a dollar at the dollar store, i forget the brand name.

The problem is Dynapep may cause a false positive if you take a drug test, the main ingredient is similar to amphetamine, except you don't get the high or addicted (well you probably would if you did it every day), just the energy part. My employer was understanding when I tested positive and told him that I had taken some stuff from gnc and printed out the chemical structures of the ingredient and amphetamine. I don't know how many places would do the same, so that is the major downside to it. Surprisingly there are a ton of things out there that will cause false positives for stuff that many people are not aware of.

I don't normally require any sort of "energy boost", either in the morning or late in the afternoon. I generally have coffee in the morning, not because I necessarily need a boost, but because I enjoy my hot cup o' joe. I suppose that I get a boost from it, but on days when I don't have my coffee, I don't notice a discernable difference.

As for the energy drinks, I shudder when I read the labels and see the lovely chemicals that they contain.

I'll drink coffee sometimes in the late fall or winter, but don't mess w/ it during the spring & summer. I usually drink the sugar free Monster or Rock Star. They've got a bit of B vitamins, Taurine & Guarana w/ a decent amount of caffeine. I'll drink a coffee or energy drink during the week/work days, but usually not on the weekends.
