An article (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/110475-roger-clemens-is- a-national-embarrasment) from a site called Bleacher Report says; "Like O.J. Simpson, Roger Clemens has all the appearance of an unrepenant bold-faced liar, and I'm sure that most people following this case will undoubtedly be hoping that he gets hit with an indictment, followed by a conviction and a significant amount of jail time that would perhaps teach this coward the lesson that he never learned on the baseball diamond where he arrogantly swaggered for years."

It is interesting that even though Barry Bonds is supposed to go on trial for perjury in March, the writer compares Clemens to O.J. Simpson. The writer also says:

"Roger Clemens is currently a black mark on the game of major league baseball and has become a national embarrassment and an anti-role model for sports fans and children everywhere."

And:

"A memo to Roger Clemens: If you think you've been in the big leagues, wait until you see some of the prisons they have upstate. When the verdict ultimately comes down for you, perhaps you'll find out the hard way that the toughest bullpens in this country aren't really located somewhere out in the dirt and grass behind left-center field."

My, you would think Roger Clemens had slashed two people to death with a knife.

No doubt this same writer was screaming "racism" when Simpson was recently convicted of theft and other misdemeanors.

To compare Clemens to Bonds is almost as ridiculous. The evidence that Bonds used steroids comes from many different sources -- multiple people includinga girlfriend, documents from BALCO, etc. --in addition to his dramatic physical change from a skinny guy with above average power to a power-hitting hulk with a head the size of one of Jupiter's moons.

The entire case against Clemens rests on the dubious testimony of just one man.Clemens began his career as a big-sized power pitcher who won lotsofgames andstayed thatway for over 20 years except fora fewrelativedown years in the middle of it. Maybe he began using steroidsafter those down years, maybe he didn't.It's not at all certain but Clemens has been thoroughly demonized and convicted by the media.

The rest of it is the same old "racial evening" of two things that are not equal, along with a lot of built up hatred of Clemens over the years because of his perceived arrogant personality, which wasn't nearly as insufferable as Bonds' personality.Edited by: Don Wassall
