Clark emerging as key player for Colts

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne may be Indianapolis' best-known offensive stars.

Defenses can forget about tight end Dallas Clark at their own peril.

The fourth-year tight end has given the Colts a different dimension over the middle -- one that creates nearly as many mismatches for linebackers and safeties as it does scoring chances for the Colts.

"That's the position you want to be in," Clark said after Sunday's AFC championship victory. "You want to be the guy getting Peyton time, running routes and making plays."

Will Dallas Clark produce like he did in the Super Bowl? If so, it could be a big victory. If Dallas Clark is MVP for a big receiving day it could solidify white college TEs

I was talking to my Dad about Dallas Clark today and he saw an interview with him presumably on ESPN where the host said that Marvin Harrison had been heard as complaining about not getting more throws during the past couple of games, and Clark said Harrison was covered and that he was the open man. He said Peyton would look for Harrison, but the bottom line was that he was going to get the ball to someone who could get them down the field and help them win the game and that whoever the ball went to was for that reason only.

I thought it was pretty interesting. My Dad noticed however that Harrison had dropped several balls lately. Thats when I told him how low his playoff numbers were and that he never does well in them but never gets the criticism for "not winning the big one" like Peyton does. I also told him that Harrison is supposedly a quiet, unselfish player but things like that show that he really isn't. My Dad was aware of much of the Caste System long before myself, but he hasn't seen a lot of the double standard as far as language and coverage goes until the last year when I started telling him to watch for certain white players and when they performed well, didn't get any coverage, not to mention the "white adjectives" used to describe them during the games. The one that really ticked him off was Owen Schmitt in the bowl game.

My neighbors kid walked up to Harrison for his autograph during pre-game in Indianapolis. Harrison grabbed the autographbook and pretended to sign his name and then slammed the book shut, handed him the book back, and walked off. It wasnt until later when they were going through the book, did they realize Harrison did not autograph the book. Apparently people that were sitting near them during the game, said that Harrison is known for doing that.

Saw a sports talk program yesterday, Friday Night Football or something like that. Has two black hosts, Eric Allen and someone else. They spent about 5 minutes with lots of little clips discussing Dallas Clark and threat he posed to the Bears linebackers. If Urlacher has to game plan for someone like 44, then that opens up the running game, which will help Manning. They really gave him a lot of respect and I liked it. Hope he has a banner day today!

Unbelievalbe I heard a MSM sports anouncer use a white players's name, Dalls Clark and the word speed linking them together in a psositive and cds that with Clarkate TE on the field that the Colts had a third wide receiver when they needed one because he had the speed to run the long paterns.
