Actually his start is a tad better, its his top end speed that seems to be lost..but he does make much progress in training, according to sources

Read this article (translate) It states the same ol BS from Master Carraz...'Lemaitre is still tired form running the relays over 1 month ago!!'!
and as usual, 'he makes much progress in training!' LMFAO! Carraz is old, and may be suffering from some sort of dementia. 4 years and counting of regression.

He blew away the field in the Oslo Diamond League meet. Looked fast and effortless. No one was close.

His time was 20.21 even though there was a strong headwind (-1.2). You turn that wind around and he's at 19.80 again. No doubt. Maybe I was onto something in trumpeting his relay runs after all.

By the way, Kilty beat some quality guys (who've been running 20.0x) to finish third.

Way to go "PepeleFlew", another nickname I have for Lemaitre. Happy to see him throw down a big win. Lord knows he needs it. He hasn't run many deuces either so it's a good sign. Happy Kilty looked strong too considering it was his first 200 meters race in two years.

I just wanted to wish Christophe Lemaitre a happy 25th birthday. Hope this summer will bring him alot of success and happiness both on and off the track.

He blew away the field in the Oslo Diamond League meet. Looked fast and effortless. No one was close.

He didn't blow the field, and you are insane if you think if the wind was + the other way, he would run 19.80. The time is respectable but he should be better at this stage. Not convinced. Kilty looked good coming from lane 8

Oh, brother. LeMaitre beat Kilty by 0.33. That's an eternity in a sprint. 0.33 is the difference between a world class international sprinter and high school state champion. Yet you have nothing positive to say about Christophe while saying that Kilty looked good. You're so blinded by your argument about the coaches (you hate Carraz and praise Kilty for changing coaches) that you can't see what happened in a race. Why doesn't Kilty have any speed endurance? Shouldn't you be throwing a tantrum about his coach, too? Don't spoil this. Christophe looked really good.

LOL! Praising Kilty ove Lemaitre??? Kilty looked good for his level of talent. Kilty is in no way shape or form as talented as Lemaitre. Lemaitre is just a victim of bad coaching. My beef with Lemaitre is he could of been a legend, not just a great sprinter. Kilty is a good sprinter, and will always be just that, a good sprinter. Apples and Oranges.

Bolt won the NYC Diamond League 200m today. His time was 20.29--not as fast as Christophe's winning time a few days ago. They both had headwinds. Does anyone doubt Bolt's time would have been under 20 without the wind?

Incidentally, one of these days we should look up Christophe's races. How many has he run with a tailwind in the past four years? It really does seems like he's generally running in crap conditions.

Christophe Lemaitre came back home Friday morning, after his first international victory, Thursday in Oslo, since two years : he has beaten Justin Gatlin in Rabat, on 100 m, the 9th of June 2013.
« It was a nice birthday gift », said Christophe in Oslo. « It was the first time I race on my birthday, I should do it most often », smiled the four-time European champion, very happy to win on Diamond League in 20’’21 (wind – 1,2 m/s).
Saturday morning, Christophe went on to speak quietly about this race.
What do you keep in your mind about this 200 m in Oslo ?
« Pierre (Carraz, his trainer) said me it was quite good. I think with better conditions, less cold and without unfavourable wind, I could be faster. We watched on video a small problem with head position in the end of the turn : I fight to not be deported and I can’t accelerate earlier. We’ll work that on the beginning ot the week. »
You were happy, relieved after this race…
« Of course I was happy to win. That has not happened since a long time internationally. But I knew I could win this 200 m in Oslo. If I had lost, I would be in trouble… Even if the South-African Jobodwana (2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in Eugene in 20’’04) is a strong opponent. This victory in Diamond League gives us confidence in our work but I have not yet all shown. It just begins, gradually. There’s always work to do. »

I think the answer lies somewhere in-between what you guys are saying.
Lemaitre ran a good race and a good time. He won! That's something he hasn't done in awhile in an international competition, and you can see from the video that he was pumped about that. That's very good for his confidence, which is important because I think he is very weak mentally relative to competitors.
He beat a solid group of sprinters, but certainly not a top group of sprinters. Still a win is a win, and his time was not bad. I give him a 'B' for this effort.

Kilty was solidly beaten, but remember he is not a 200m runner, whereas it is Lemaitre's specialty. Kilty doesn't run the 200m very often. Also it was his first 200m of the season and he ran from lane 8. So relative to those circumstances, I think his performance was very solid for him. I give him a 'B' or 'B+' for his effort.

Thank you for posting this RCSMAN. You proved my point. The fact that Lemaitre still has not recovered from running 3 races over a month ago is mind boggling!!!!...he is mis-trained, mishandled, undeveloped... and we know where the fault lies....thank you

Oh Yes, the technical point.... something that should of been fixed 4 years ago, lol. Why Lemaitre protects this Carraz is beyond me. Tell it like it is Christophe...the Old Fool knows nothing of Sprint!!!!!!!!!

So in the time since his "disappointing" 200m victory against a heavy wind, Usain Bolt and Jimmy Vicaut have both scored major 200 wins with slower times.

Vicaut will get better in the 200...The track in Rabat Morocco is very slow. Runners have said there is no bounce on the track.

Time is working against Usain Bolt. He is now 28, in August 29. If you are clean (and I hope that Bolt is clean), it's natural to decline/regress at this age. Over 400m and 200m you are going downhill at this age. Especially 400m is for young men.
Gatlin can hold his performance but we all know what's going on.

bolt is 28, bolt is the world record holder, bolt is multiple champion, bolt also has back issues ( scoliosis ) which may have catched up, plus he parties a lot and has nothing really to prove anymore ..you are nuts with this comparison.
