A blurb in the latest SI issue( Messi on the cover--ace stuff) states that 17 year old MF/F Pulisic could be the next American star and he is all set to play for the USA in the upcoming COPA tournament which will be televised by all the Fox sports outlets. He is playing in Germany I believe but is getting high marks for quickness and Messi type skills.. Nothing wrong with that !!!!

The stereotypical "German-American" soccer player is a mulatto bastard son of a weak German woman and an impulsive American national black man. In the 80s, there was a big American military base in Berlin to protect us little guys from Big Bad Russia. Most of the "graduate" mulattos of that establishment do not even talk to their fathers. Rather, they were raised by their white moms in Germany but still chose to represent the USA for international tournaments. Wow, congratulations to us, the USA!

Pulisic was actually born and raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where in my personal yet outdated experience actually does play good competitive soccer. He is way more 'American' despite his Slovak surname than all of the black and about a third of the white players on the USMNT right now, in my opinion.

Pulisic is of Croatian ancestry, not Slovak. The Pulisics are from the Croatian region of Dalmatia, specifically from the coastal city of Zadar where I think his grandfather is from. He even applied for Croatian citizenship so he can play in Germany/EU without work-permit problems (i.e. he would have a double Croatian/US citizenship). However, he did state that he intends to play for the US national team, not for Croatia.
When I see so much pressure and expectations thrown on a 17 years old kid, it makes me shudder. Borussia Dortmund seems to be a good place to "grow up" and he is definitely very talented, but we have to wait and see...

Yes, I meant to say "Slavic" rather than Slovak. I was drinking too much Polish vodka last night, lol. I even thought about this error earlier today before you corrected me!

It has been a solid debut season for the American. He did initially have a bit of trouble breaking into the starting lineup and has had some injury struggles. But in his 24 appearances, he has 9 goals and 4 assists. In addition, he has won two penalties for his side. He has the same number of league goals in his Chelsea debut season as Eden Hazard during his debut Chelsea season.

Lampard initially was selecting the Afflete Hudson-Odoi over Pulisic last autumn. But Pulisic has risen to the occasion and has been immovable from the starting lineup since the league's resumption. Pulisic has started 7 matches since the league resumed, while at the same time Hudson-Odoi has made only 5 appearances from the bench
