Chagaev by UD. Blubber-boy did nothing but grab, hold, and lean all night. Chagaev looked tired from trying to free himself all of the time from Skelton's wrestling. Chagaev lacks lateral movement and a good bob to free himself from these types of tactics. And Chagaev didn't let his hands go enough.

Scores were 117-111, 117-111, and 117-110.

I scored it 117-110, but Skelton should have been disqualified for holding onto Chagaev's head over and over again.

Did you see how many times the ref told him to stop holding? And yet he never took a point.

Chagaev showed very well considering he is getting over an illness, was absent for a while, and was fighting another much bigger opponent. I was impressed once again with Chagaev bob and weave. No doubt in my mind Chagaev would have been able to stop Skelton in the final rounds had it not been for the holding.

Skelton was pathetic. They really are scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for the next Great Black Hope.

Another win for the good guys!

It is difficult to look good against a slug like Skelton whose only interest in the fight was to go the distance by holding on to Chagaev. Skelton wasn't even clinching -he was bear-hugging and frequently had his hands behind Chagaev's head. For a guy who had a significant reach advantage, Skelton did not want to box. It is supposed to be the other way around: the shorter guy usually wants to fight close in.

By going the distance, and surviving without a knockdown, Skelton now can say he deserves another shot somewhere, someplace, sometime, and will ask for a good payday by being an opponent with some kind of make believe credibility.

Chagaev did not look that good either as he made many, many mistakes:

*Didn't use almost any double hooks mixed in with the upper-cut.

*As Skelton tried to crowd him he should have been stepping to the sides -later movement-and punching in the holes created by Skelton's outreached arms.

*Most importantly, Chagaev kept moving to his left which, as a southpaw, made it difficult for him to generate power in his straight left, his best punch.

I think Ibragimov is actually better than Chagaev. Ibragimov has much faster hands and better lateral movement. Wladimir would kill Skelton. I would love to see that fight.

With this win by Chagaev it brings my caste prediction record to 7-1. Thank you Chagaev!Edited by: Maple Leaf

Ibragimov is definetely the second best heavyweight out there after Wlad. His had speed is very impressive and he is a cautious and smart fighter. I hate the fact that he will lose his belt to Wlad. Oh Well.

I agree with you, it will be sad to see Ibragimov lose. Hopefully he won't suffer an injury that will harm his career. It is, however, a good problem to have too many whites as champions and top contenders that they have to start fighting each other. Do you remember Calzaghe/Kessler?

I was really expecting Chagaev to KO Skelton, thus I was dissapointed with Chagaev's performance. Skeltons just an overated fat slob.

You should be ashamed of yourself disgracing your fellow Englishman in such a manner!

What was a ref who sounded like he could barely speak English doing instructing in English? It seemed like he never said a word in German to Chagaev. These body appointed referees are a joke. As for the fight it was what it was, a decent champion fighting a guy who is a class below world status. If you are life and death to beat Fraudley and Danny Williams, your not world class.Edited by: white is right

Maple Leaf, I think we are all honest on this website, if we wern't we wouldn't be on here. That's the problem with most modern day white people (especially in the USA), they just arn't honest so that they can fit into popular mainstream multicultural society.
