Chad Schroeder is a junior wide receiver for Texas A&M. He was one of the top quarterbacks in Texas in high school but converted to wide receiver in college. He has been clocked consistent 4.3 seconds in the 40 and is 6'1", 180 lbs. As a sophomore, he averaged an amazing 33.1 yds per catch and has numerous catches over 60 yds. If the coaches can get him in the game more often, he can definitely make an impact.

Isn't it interesting that we have another superfast and athletic white quarterback turned wide receiver, ala Drew Bennett and Matt Jones. The propaganda is that black quarterbacks have made the position more "athletic," yet we are seeing white quarterback "discards" shining as wideouts. Just as the best white athletes in baseball first try to be pitchers, the best white athletes in football initially gravitate toward quarterback.

I think that the high school coach's philosophy has always been that they want their best athlete to have the ball in his hands on every play. Hence, you see a lot of great athletes playing quarterback in high school when it is not their most natural position. I know down here in Texas, that philosophy is quickly changing with many of the high schools implementing pro-style offenses. They are now running 7-on-7 drills as freshmen in high school, which was unheard of 10 years ago. Gone are the days of the veer and wishbone offenses.

Chad was the star of the show this past weekend for the Aggies. He caught 6 passes for 101 yds and a TD in the win over the Citadel. He seems to be fully recovered from a broken leg that end his season last year. Go Chad.
