Hey guys long time no see.

If you got some spare time watch out for Toronto's Chad Kackert who's filling in at RB for the injured Cory Boyd. He went to camp with the Jags last year. Chad is running wild behind the strong run-blocking of awesomes Quebecmen Dominique Picard and Cedric Gagné-Marcoux. He's getting the not very original Josh Ranek comparison. :dodgy:

Impressive running stats for Kackert so far. The only negative I see is the three fumbles. He'd best get a handle on that ball! The NFL would have "whitelisted" him already for the drops, regardless of his positive stats.

Nice to see you back on here, Gi-15. But I'm still gonna kick your butt in the Lambert League this year!

Well that's just wishful thinking Don. I just hope you remember to give me what's rightfully mine, TJR's first overall pick, and that will take care of the rest! Ingram's my new bellcow!

Talking CFL, anybody else is pissed that the bears went out and got all these receivers before they could get a real look at Fantuz in camp? Poor Andy should have signed with jacksonville or indianapolis, or stayed home. The Riders are really missing him.

Great to see you back GI-15. This site could use more GI-15 like posters. That is except in FF, there we aren't so friendly as you will be getting Marc Ingram! Doh!

Chad Kackert is making a name for himself, hopefully he still gets carries once Boyd comes back, he has 314 yards on 54 attempts 5.8 ypc 4 tds, 4 receptions for 58 yards 1 td. Can't believe I just now found out about this guy. He is 5'8 200 pounds, ran a 4.31, played at University of New Hampshire. He has a shot at breaking 1k this season even though he didn't get carries the first two games.

He didn't get many carries the last game because the defense sucked and they had to become pass heavy, he had 10 carries for 62 yards. I think he is playing knicked up, he had a 70 yard run in preseason and it looked like he pulled something on the final 10 yards.

I commented on Kackert last year after watching him in pre-season with the Jaguars. He averaged over 4 YPC last pre-season and showed some nice promise in the final? preseason game I believe. Sad to think that guys like him and Weston Dressler can be so fast (combined with short area quickness) and star in the CFL, but get blacklisted from the NFL.

Kackert didn't have a long statistical resume at FCS New Hampshire. However, with his measureables, film evaluations- and upside he showed in the pre-season- there's a HIGH CHANCE a team would have AT LEAST practice squaded him last year if he simply had melanin. It would be great to see Dressler and Kackert get enough recognition in the CFL that they soon get a chance in the NFL. I'm not holding my breath though.

BTW, I recall I ranked Dressler as a 4th round WR a few years back in my draft rankings. With the way he's played in the CFL, 4th round may have even been a little low!

Well his opportunity to get any recognition didn't last long. Cory Boyd came back from injury and somehow Chad is listed as 4th string getting no carries the last two games since Boyd has been back.

Boyd had 48 yards on 12 carries last game, 3.8 ypc. His season stats are 52 carries for 232 yards 4.5 ypc 2 tds, 9 receptions for 58 yards compared to Chad's 54 carries for 314 yards 5.8 ypc 4 tds, 4 receptions for 58 yards 1 td.

Hopefully the coaches will reconsider the amount of touches he gets.

He didn't have stats in college that jumped off the page but still nice if you look at all purpose, 3,000 from scrimmage 32 tds for his career. If you include returns he had 4k all purpose. A player that I would consider similar is Phillip Livas who played at Lousiana Tech, although he was technically a receiver his receptions and rushing attempts were about evenly split. They had similar pro days except Chad is thicker and weighs more 5'8 198 to Livas 5'7 179. I don't consider the competition that Livas faced that much tougher. Livas had more production as a return man but less as a receiver/rusher. Livas is with the Dolphins so we'll see if he sticks.
