I used to be a caver. The strict rule was minimum three lights per person, and of course helmets and strong shoes etc. The official story is they took off their shoes and the whole lot of them went in the cave with one single flashlight for everybody, past a big warning sign, in the rainy season, telling nobody where they were going. That could make sense if they just went in 10 feet or so. But they found them many miles inside crossed over many bad obstacles - caves are nothing but bad obstacles! How could they even have gotten to the place where they were found? Do you understand that caves are so dark that you can't see your hand in front of your face, and every movement is a peril from low roofs or stalagmites crashing into your head, pits and trenches in the floor, steep rocky climbs, narrow crawls - without shoes or helmets - one single flashlight for all of them? No way.
