Take a look at this pathetic caste write up of the worst draft picks of all time. They have Matt Jones at a whooping #6 already ahead of higher drafted Troy Williamson from the same year, David Terrell and Charles Rodgers and ahead of murderer Ray Caruth. Just pathetic! And they have Kicker Janikowski and Tim Couch ahead of Akili Smith. A white WR as the second highest WR bust of all-time; just pathetic! May they choke on their words!

Matt Jones was a college QB and draft picks are usually given 3 years to fully evaluate them. Matt Jones therefore should get four. Jones also has struggled with injury and QB switches galore and a QB (Gerard) that doesn't throw the long ball much. Can you imagine Matt Jones with Tom Brady? Yet Matt Jones had already become one of the most hated players ever before this season!

Matt Jones at number 6 huh. This site is ridiculous. Why is Jones even on this list. This is only his 4th season. He had 643 receiving yards 2 seasons ago. This season he will put up his best numbers yet.

I posted this originally in a 49ers forum thread, but moved it here:

Of the six WRs taken in the first round in 2005, Mike Williams, Troy Williamson and Mark Clayton are busts, the first two among the biggest busts ever. Roddy White and Braylon Edwards have talent but are inconsistent; Edwards has been awful so far in '08.

Career stats through yesterday: Edwards is 195/3056, White 185/2833, Jones 139/1847.Jones' aren'tas good but Edwards and White were handed the number one receiving jobs on their respective teams from the day they were drafted. Also consider that Jones has been on one of the league's worst passing offenses, and that his head coach basically wouldn't let him play in 2007. Sixth biggest bust of all time? That's pure racism at play.

BTW, check out the other WRs on that list for a black who's who of highly drafted busts just from the past decade. And others could be added to it. Edited by: Don Wassall

Another thing is why is David Carr on that list? I know he hasn't had great seasons but there is no way he can be considered one of the worst draft picks of the last 10 years. He played behind a horrible offensive line in Houston and still managed to have some decent games.

How about this... former 1st Round pick (DL) Marcus Spears has only 4.5 career sacks (none this year) and only 20 tackles this season!

After Chris Long's 2 sacks against the Patriots' -- he has 4 sacks so far as a rookie and 25 tackles.

Raiders' rookie (DL) Trevor Scott has 2 sacks this season, which he got when he faced the Jets' largely sumo line.

Former 1st Round pick, (DT) John McCargo, is also a bust. The Bills' tried to trade him away but an injury discovery voided the trade attempt.

Ha, good call on the Lions.

The one that is more grating to me than Mike Williams is Charles Rogers. Didn't the Lions do any kind of a background check? All they had to do was send someone 90 minutes West to East Lansing or 90 minutes North to Saginaw to find out what a piece of trash this guy was. This was a clown with multiple kids in high school, who missed his senior basketball season with a punctured lungs after one of his baby's mamas stabbed him. With a fork.

Maybe that was a misprint for Matt Jones at number 6 they must have got it confused with his former backup at Arkansas Tavaris Jackson who was a 2nd round pick. Jackson had to transfer to a division 2 school to start because he couldn't beat out Jones then Jackson got drafted to the NFL and was handed a starting Job and the player he couldn't start over got told he wasn't good enough to play QB in the NFL. Tebow better watch his back because he has a black backup they will probably move his position and start the negro in the nfl. Mike Vick should be on this list.

Michael Vick is the worst draft pick ever.
You can't judge a receiver by his stats unless he duplicates the same numbers with several different teams and quarterbacks. Drew Bennett was one of the best receivers in the league when Billy Volek was quarterback.

Any black qb taken in the last few years just has to be up for consideration for the list.
