Well, this fight should be the anti thesis of last weeks disappointing Mayweather vs Pacman fight. I see this as showcase /statement fight for Canelo Alvarez. It will be similar when Canelo utterly destroyed slow moving Angulo a couple of years ago. It should be a rock'em sock'em fight for the 1st 2 rounds. After that Canelo will systematically destroy a game Kirkland who always comes to bang. The Mayweather vs Pacman fight will be showed prior to this fight. It has been reported that Pacman had surgery on his right rotator cuff. If true, he should have postponed the fight. Now he could be on the hook for falsifying a report stating that he was tip top on the day of the fight. Dumb move by Manny and his promoter.

It will be an entertaining fight for sure.

I'm hoping Canelo will KO Kirkland early, then maybe the criminal will retire and the sport will be rid of him.

Canelo has not looked too great in his last few bouts. I got a bad feeling about this one. Of course Im rooting for a KO, but like I said Canelo hasnt really been special lately.

He could be peaked out. He is only 24 but he is probably an old 24 as he turned pro at 15 years old and has been fighting fringe contenders from 18 years old. That said he is fundamentally more sound than Julio Jr. Really the only way Kirkland can win is if he catches Alvarez early or Alvarez fights too aggressively like Angulo did.

Ps Kirkland already sounds like he has slight brain damage and had a bit of a "mush mouth" when he was being interviewed for 24/7.

Canelo could win by early KO. Kirkland's chin is questionable as he's been stopped by a feather fisted Japanese fighter in the 1st round and was easily knocked down by Angulo who Canelo beat with ease.

Yes Wes Woodhead, he has not looked spectacular the last 3 outings but lets briefly examine them. Against Mayweather, he lost a decision but had some moments. He fought the wrong fight. Attempted to walk down Floyd. Not going to happen. He should have laid on the ropes and dared Floyd to come to him or stand in the middle of the ring and dare Floyd to mix it up. It would have made for a more competitive fight. Against Angulo, he looked sensational and stopped Angulo. Against Lara he won a decision from the 2nd best 154 lber. Like I said this should be a showcase and statement fight for Canelo. Then the big fight at the end of Summer. Cotto vs Canelo.

Lara is also another stinker type. It's hard to look good against that type of fighter. This fight is set up for Canelo to look spectacular unless he gets caught or gasses. I can't see Kirkland out boxing Alvarez.

PS. Rigondeux is another stinker type, he fights so boring that he had to leave his Cuban/Latino marketing base to fight in Japan and become the villain to the Japanese heroes.

Just viewed some of the videos on Youtube hyping the fight. Man, this fight will end badly for Kirkland. He his slurring his words big time. He is already punch drunk. It should be over in round 5. In spectacular fashion. Canelo with a 5th round KO!

Kirkland is apparently a complete buffoon as he balloons up to 200 lbs between fights. That is fine if you are a light heavyweight, not a super welterweight. Ricky Hatton was almost as bad, sometimes weighing 185 pounds between fights.

I didnt know that about Kirkland. Yeah if thats the case he is gonna be real damaged before long. Like Westside said he is already punchy as hell, and talking like a slobbering drunk.

When hearing of this fight, I instantly remembered a bought in which a black dude (trained by a negress at the time) was heavily hyped going in against a skinny, awkward and shop-worn Asian opponent.

As I recall, the fight barley got started when the skinny, awkward asian nailed the black guy, who then became very unstable and ultimately was knocked out. You don't forget fights like that.

I think this Kirkland guy is that black dude. And Canelo can certainly hit harder than that no-name, worn out Asian guy.

Prediction: Canelo by a destructive knock out. Lets go El Blanco!

Here ya go Crypto.

Yup, that's the fight. I like how Maxi Kellerwoman said that Kirkland was supposed to "beat the hell" out of the tomato can asian.

Saw the May vs Pac replay. I had it 7 to 5 Mayweather. Two weeks ago, Wlad got a point taken away for tactically holding. Mayweather did the same. Was a point taken. OF COURSE NOT! Floyd is a great defensive fighter but that fight was not great. Plus the injury(rotator cuff) Pacman had in the fight, surprised he did as well as he did. I sense a rematch in the making. But I am sure they will not charge a 100.00 for PPV.

Looking forward to Canelo dominating in several minutes.

As I predicted (and most everyone else as well, except for Maxie Kellerwoman) a destructive knockout!

Kirkland will never and I mean never be the same intellectually again, although, how could anyone tell the difference?

Great early KO, just as I predicted a few days ago. Kirkland's chin was going to give out eventually. I still give my hats off to him for coming forward and slugging it out which is rare of most black boxers nowadays who simply hit, run, repeat until the final bell.

Usually after a beating like this a fighter loses his punch resistance. I suspect Kirkland will be matched against another star fighter within the year and he will get badly ko'd without the drama of this Hagler vs Hearns clone. As we stated before Kirkland is already showing signs of slurring. He should retire but he won't until his body and mind are used up I'm afraid.

Oh, that's funny. Kirkland told Maxie that "the referee called it off."

Evidently, the Mandingo warrior doesn't remember the beauty rest he took while laying flat-out in the ring.

Wow! Canelo the destroyer. Sensational KO. Like the Shark stated, the KO of the Year. I was also impressed with his poise. Never panicked when Kirkland assaulted him and caught him a few time. Stay relaxed and unleashed vicious left hooks and lead rights. I suspect now that Cotto and GGG are hearing his loud footsteps.
