It's obvious this is to make money and if the slightly built Danny Garcia can ko the fragile Khan, then Canelo should wreck Khan the minute he lands a flush combo.

I expect Khan to box/run for a few rounds until he is either fatigued or gets nailed by a counter punch.

Ps I have lost respect for team Canelo and Golden Boy promotions as it's obvious GGG is going to be awarded the WBC belt in the near future but Canelo has stated who has GGG beaten? I could argue that the resumes of the fighters are very close. Obviously Canelo is close to a decade younger but he hasn't cleaned out a division like GGG has and nobody is ducking him like GGG is being ducked.

Yes, we agree again. :D Canelo will lift and Khan will take a hard landing. I think he knows it.

I also have lost interest and respect for Canelo for his attempts to get GGG to agree to fight middleweight at 155 -such a ridiculous and arrogant demand. Some Latinos, Blacks, and White dopes like to caw GGG has to meet Canelo's demands if he wants the money because GGG has no one to fight. This is nonsense. A completely unified middleweight champion will always has good opponents.

Round 7 Khan draped over the canvass, on his back side.

Pretty close West, Khan knocked out cold in the sixth. NO surprises from this board as we all knew this was coming. So we know Canelo can knock out weak chinned welters, like to see his take his craft to GGG but I don't think he will until GGG is 40.

While the knockout wasn't a shock the one punch out before you hit the floor landing like a wet bag of cement was a bit of one to me.

Also the post fight interview was telling and truthful from Khan and Hunter. This may force Golden Boy who seem to pull the strings behind the scenes for team Alvarez. I suspect they will way the scenarios and the financial futures with and without the GGG fight. Let's hope it's a barren desert in their minds if they duck the GGG fight and try and hold the lineal middleweight title hostage, similar to what Foreman did with the heavyweight title when he fought Crawford Grimsley and the unproven prospect Briggs.

Anyone who follows boxing knew this was match-up was a farce.

Good hell, Khan's inability to take a punch is so bad I've seen him get wobbly from touching gloves.

Too bad I couldn't find a couple dumb muslims and win some money.

I didnt post a prediction but before the fight I thought Khan had a chance at upset if he managed to keep the fight at a distance. Granted, I knew he does not have the best punch resistance and Canelo is also a much bigger man than him. It was always going to be tough for Amir in this fight, so not surprised by the outcome.

Canelo has made several distasteful comments leading up to this fight including GGG hasn't earned a fight with him (GGG being one of the longest reigning champions in boxing and the unanimous #1 mw for 6 years seems to mean nothing according to Canelo, not to mention GGG is undefeated Canelo has 1 loss), he's also repeatedly insisted that GGG fight him at 155 lbs despite the fact that Canelo holds a 160 lbs belt. The obvious question is why does Canelo have a middleweight title if he is unwilling to fight at middleweight?

WBC has claimed the winner of Khan-Canelo must fight GGG or be stripped. They need to follow through on that. I believe Canelo wont take the fight at 160 and will likely give up the title.

If the fight did happen GGG beats him comfortably within 8 rounds. He hits harder, is a better boxer, better defensively. And is the same size. Much better amateur accumen as well.

Canelo doesnt look good fighting lightweights like Khan but then is unwilling to move up 5 lbs to fight GGG. Fight somebody your own size instead of beating up lightweights. Khan said after the fight that he was brave enough to move up in weight and fight Canelo, but Canelo is acting like a diva and refuses to defend his middleweight title against another middleweight.

Canelo's ducking of GGG and reasons for avoiding the fight are making Mayweather's Money Team look good by moral comparison. If youre going to pretend to be the best atleast be willing to fight the best to prove it.

Khan is a warrior.
Canelo is a diva.

GGG the modern day Marvelous Marvin Hagler. Just like that fear-inducing boxing great, GGG is also becoming legendary, not for who he's fought, but for the roll-call of tough guys who refuse to fight him. The litany of excuses and backroom shenanigans that are killing the sport, are why boxing has lost so much popularity. The fans just want to see the best fight the best, no excuses. Canelo should be called out by GGG as a pathetic excuse for a Mexican macho man. Appeal to his machismo, and humilate him in the minds of his fellow beaners, is how you can create a fight when you're dealing with 3rd World Latrino's.

Canelo is now saying he would fight GGG at 160 but he has a "team" that decides. What a load of crap! He doesn't want the fight because it will derail his career and will most likely end in a devastating knockout.

My guess the fight is happening. De La Hoya told GGG to stand by his phone this morning. The purse share will obviously go to Canelo 65 to 35%. And the one sticking point will be that GGG weigh in at 157 lbs. Canelo strategy is to have a weight and energy drained GGG come into the fight semi comatose. GGG bends and says 158 lbs. 35 million reasons plus PPV revenue say GGG agrees to the 157 lbs stipulation at 158 lbs.

So many rumors... Everyone who follows boxing knows that Canelo wants GGG under the 160 to weight-drain him. Canelo is a master of re-hydration; likely using some medicine of some sorts to do it so well. So far GGG is quoted in his public comments he won't back down, 160 it is or go fly a kite. Here's hoping he sticks to his guns and the fight is held at 160.

GGG should do it with enough time to acclimate to the (157-158) weight. Then use Canelo as the stepping stone to calling the shots with future hide & seek boxers. Boxers who have large weight fluxuations between bouts are the ones who are more susceptible to energy drain when dropping weight in preparation for a fight. GGG is always in fighting shape, so with reasonable time could avoid the consequences the sneaky Mexican camp of cowards anticipates with such a weight requirement.
Still say bait them with Mexican machismo nationalism. Address Mexicans on television by appealing to the history of valient heart snatchers who have given Mexican boxing a deserved reputation of fearlessness. Tell them that, suspiciously red headed, awfully pale Canelo not only doesn't act like a beaner, but looks Irish. Can you imagine the media firestorm! Sell the damn fight!

GGG doesn't want to insult Canelo; he doesn't want to be the villain; he wants to endear himself to the Mexican boxing fan.

Yeah, that will be the day when La Raza chauvinists take a ethnic Russian from the steppes of central Asia to heart. Just as likely they'd go full Aztec on him. Villains sell fights. Boxing is as much theater as it is blood sport. Americans find him boring outside of the ring. Time for some "insane clown posse" promotional marketing and turn this baby face into "baby face Nelson."

GGG is not Kovalev; it's not his personality to badger and insult. Oh well.

Yes the saying was Hagler was Black and a southpaw and not a draw so he never got a title shot until he was close to thirty. GGG is a huge puncher and has no natural ethnic market in the US. It amazes me that Lemieux fought him when he was essentially selling his belt for 1.5 million US.

Ps Lemieux looked like he has no after affects from the GGG beating. He layed wasted to gritty Quadroon Jersey inner city tough guy Glen Tapia.

These are good points; if Lemieux can fight GGG as his first defence, and walk away whole, what is wrong with Canelo's courage he can't find it within himself to take on this era's greatest gladiator?

I get it that boxing is more of a business than a sport. So Golovkin may have to make some concessions to make the fight happen (such as fighting at 157).

But it still doesn't change the fact that its a lowball tactic by Canelo and his team. It would be different if Canelo was a junior middle moving up, then a catch weight would make sense.

But Canelo has a 160 lb belt. So he is supposed to be some kind of middleweight champion. Why not fight at middleweight then? And if hes not comfortable at 160, then drop the belt and leave it for guys who actually are middleweights.

If I understand correctly, the WBC has mandated Canelo fight GGG next or be stripped as GGG has been the mandatory for a while. Because of his mandatory position, GGG is under no obligation to agree to a weight below 160 lbs. Of course if he insists on 160, Canelo will likely vacate and GGG will them fight someone else for the vacant belt at smaller profit.

Sergey Kovalev said it best when he said he understands why Canelo doesnt want to fight GGG. Because Canelo will get wrecked.

I mean Canelo could have avoided the whole problem had he just stayed at 154. As a middleweight champ its sad to see him demanding to fight below the weight limit. A tactic that would make Mayweather proud.

Golden Boy can try to manufacture Canelo into a star but at the end of the day GGG smashes him. If GGG is good at 157 maybe take it. But if Im GGG I may demand it at 160 and "lol" while Canelo vacates.

This is almost as bad as Wilder's attempts to duck Povetkin.

So GGG doesn't have the personality and english language skills to self promote. He doesn't have to act like a working class goon or African witch doctor to get attention. He can just very cleverly ask innocent wide eyed Forrest Gump like questions of the press (planted pre-arranged questions with complicit journalists) that get under the oppositions skin and get the fans buzzing. No opinions on his opponent, just pure simple curiosity. They don't try to turn him into what he isn't, but use what he is -- the choir boy with a sweet personality who just wants to know if Canelo needs hormone replacement therapy.

In the past guys have cherry picked titles of vulnerable champions at higher weights and never had any intentions of defending the heavier belts. But this situation is unique. Team Canelo negotiated with GGG to get a voluntary defense against Khan to avoid GGG's mandatory which was really Cotto's inherited mandatory.

I recall Ray Leonard winning two titles against Donny Lalonde and never trying to defend the light heavyweight belt. Roy Jones did this with heavyweight belt too(except he demanded an absurd purse to fight Lennox Lewis). Canelo wants to make up his own division because he has problems sweating down to 154, yet is fearful of fighting full blown middleweights.

He reminds me of JCC jr and his weight gain nonsense.......

By now, after years of professional boxing, he knows about self-promotion, he has spoken frequently of doing the "big show". He is as smart as a whip, but we see he's not comfortable with word fights so he's keeping to fist fights.:D

I know what everybody knows, Canelo's got to lose to know how to win.
