Can Brett Favre save the NFL?

The Wall Street Journal disclosed that Brett Favre's Jersey is the best seller in 19 states, Favre being one of just eight players whose jersey is a top seller in more than one state, far out ranking that of the other seven players.

This is a problem for the NFL, because their business is in a potential crisis: they don't have (many) popular players, and many of their best known players are thugs who alienate the mostly White, middle aged fans. This is particularly dicey for the NFL given that it's four largest TV deals expire in 2014 and TV networks are under huge earnings pressure.

The NFL is caught between a mostly Black, thuggish player corps threatening to alienate the mostly White and Middle class fans, and the demands of PC and Multiculturalism. Perhaps only Brett Favre can "save them" by buying space and time while the NFL figures out what to do and develops more popular players.

Can anyone smarter than me please tell me what the reasons might be for the distributions of high sales for Troy Polamalu jerseys could be, according to the map jaxvid provided? I mean, seriously, New Mexico, Oregon, and Alabama?!

For New Mexico and Oregon it probably has more to do with him being Polynesian. Probably the same with Lofa Tatupu in Washington and Idaho. Alabama is a little tougher to explain. Maybe there's a lot of Steeler fans there or just people who like ugly, long haired safeties.

I cannot figure that one out either. Very bizzare! Maybe because he's such a freaky looking guy he stands out even amongst the weird looking black guys. I think if they trained a gorilla to play football he would be the most popular player because the whole league is a freak show and the strangest non-white guys are the most popular.

I cannot figure that one out either. Very bizzare! Maybe because he's such a freaky looking guy he stands out even amongst the weird looking black guys.

It's simple. He has a broad nose, kinky black hair, thick lips, and dark skin. Madden raved about his athleticism. I suspect most fans think he's at the least half black.

So, fans think Tom Brady is too arrogant? That's funny. I was listening to the Chicago sport shows, they can't stand Jay Cutler already. Apparently they don't feel he is humble enough. Yes I noticed that disconnect too. It's so laughable a comparison I thought at first the writer was trying to make a sarcastic point, but no it was typical caste-think, throwing in an innocuous white violation to somehow get balance. Matt Jones was also mentioned with his horrible crime of cocaine possesion. Many of the comments are pure DWF and there is a nice one by a CF member or fan.

BTW I don't think Brady is arrogant but more media shy or at least reserved. It's just his nature. I don't know why that isn't considered a good thing, sure it effects his marketability but probably is the reason he is such a clutch QB.

If Giordano can stick w\the Pack i will definitely considering buying his jersey. I still want a Welker jersey! I read in Sports Illustrated bout two years ago that Chris Cooley's jersey was in the top 10 for sales. I think its due to his cool last name lol pun intended.

I find his new Head and Shoulders commercial quite funny. But ya he's everythign you would want in a safety, no doubt
