WBO/IBF super middleweight champ Joe Calzaghe says he wants to fight James Toney, who once held Calzaghe's 168lb title. Toney is now fighting as a heavyweight and weighed 237 lbs. for Saturday's draw with Hasim Rahman. "He's welcome to come back down to super-middle and challenge for his old title - which at least I can proudly fit around my waist - but I don't think anyone can drag him out of his training camp at McDonalds and get him into serious training in a boxing gym," said Calzaghe. "I would love to kick his arse now because I just missed out on doing it in the 90's when I was coming through but I'm sure as a young kid I would still have knocked him about. He should lose the flab and fight me because he is still a name in the sport and it would look great on my record next to a W and KO. Instead of doing weights with Twinkie bars and drinking Kool Aid he should get onto the salad, pasta and water and whip himself into shape because he'd need to be against me."

Toney could never get down to 168 again. But the line about having his training camp at McDonalds is very funny.

Calzaghe should take aim at the winner of Tarver-Hopkins for the light heavyweight title. He would beat both of them.

Forget about Toney. Nothing to gain and everything to lose facing Toney. Beating another american fighter with the gravitas of a Hopkins or Tarver would mean much more to Calzaghe's record and legacy.

I'm sure Toney would resort to making a racial slur towards Calzaghe. In the pre-fight show, they interviewed Freddy Roach about James Toney and his training habits, if you can call them that. Anyway, Roach said that at one point, Toney told him, "I"ll kick your ass, white boy." Of course, if you've ever seen Freddy Roach, he is almost dwarfish in appearance and appears to have some form of deformity or disability. But of course, Toney is given a pass on his remarks, because after all, he is really just a big teddy bear.

Toney really insulted Calzaghe on BBC radio in the run up to the Lacy fight stating that Lacy will destroy Calzaghe and insulting Joe record calling him a joke.This has riled up Calzaghe.Toney also made racial remarks about Valuev.He seems to resent the recent white sucess in boxing.I would love a white fighter to knock him on his ass before he retires,Toney's one of those ghetto Black men who thinks all White men are boys hence their common putdown 'white boy' and not on his level physically.

This over hyped bum since fighting as a heavyweight has beat an old man in Evander Holyfield, beat a bum named Rydell Booker, needed steriods to beat a bum named John Ruiz, beat a one time black hope named Dominick Guinn and fought a draw with a over rated Rahman. The question is with that kind of a record at heavyweight how did this fat slob get a title shot ahead of Oleg Maskaev who KO'd Rahman?
