BYU Basketball 2005-2006

Sweet! BYU controls their own destiny. If they get 20 wins it will be hard to keep them out of the tournament.

They are 18-7 now with 2 games left before the MWC tournament, Colorado State and New Mexico, both at home. We'll see what happens, but I think as long as they do well in the Tourney, they will get a NCAA spot.

BYU has a good RPI and they're approaching 20 wins, but they are not a lock to get in.The easiest route of course is to win your conference tourney and get the automatic,if BYU doesn't then they have to hope for that at large bid and if you know anything about the selection comittee they can be pretty fickle.

+20 wins will be the key for BYU if they want to get an at large bid. The media seems pretty hung up on making sure all the Big East and MVC teams get their "deserved" bids first. That right there is at least 10 at larges between those 2 conferences. So BYU will need at least 21 wins I'll say to get an at large since they aren't in a big time conference.

One of the ESPN "experts" had BYU has one of the "last four out"... so they definitely are in striking distance if they finish strong

Yeah, I think they might get in, especially if they win 2 games in the MWC tournament. They retire Kresimir Cosic's jersey tomorrow in the season finale against New Mexico. Hopefully they will win it and 2 games or more and then get in the NCAA.

BYU is now 20-7 to finish the regular season! Lets hope they get into the NCAA by doing well in the conference tournament next week.

Well, the men are out of the NIT after losing 77-67 to Houston. I really thought they might tear it up in the NIT, but I guess I was wrong. The women's team will play Iowa Saturday afternoon.

Trent Plaisted was named Freshman All-American after leading BYU in scoring (13.6 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg) this season.
