My perception of a player is colored (no pun intended) by the media representation of that player. Despite the local TV station airing a story about Romo's parents, they haven't made a big deal about him being a 'Hispanic' or 'Mexican' quarterback. And apparently it's all the same to Michael Irvin, whether white or Hispanic - as long as he isn't black, he can never be 'that' athletic.
I consider Romo and Losman to be 'white' for caste system purposes, and Goings to be 'black' for those same purposes. For me, it's all about how they're perceived by the system, and how that can influence changing the system for better or worse.
