How bout a thread for all the great multi-sport white athletes that choose baseball over football?

I'll start with two:

Thanks for the update Albino Rhino. This kid has incredible athleticism as we all know here. Kansas has a baseball player from Colorado named Tyler Tharp. He was one incredible rb prospect last year. I guess our athletes have the rite to choose what sport they think ios best for them down the road.

We've talked periodically about Samardzija and Matt Szczur chose baseball last year too. I don't blame Starling for taking the baseball money, and I hope he becomes a star.

Of course, I'm very disappointed in Bubba's decision to go baseball. But considering what he will be paid as a first-round pick for the Royals, I think he most likely made the correct decision.

As a run-first QB, he would have a difficult path to that kind of money in football. He would most likely have been "Matt Jonesed" at some point. Nebraska would have been a good place to play, but imagine what this kid could do in Gus Malzahn's offense at Auburn. sCam Newton who?

I prefer to follow football but if I had a son who had the chance to go pro in either sport I would choose baseball in heart beat, its just way more logical economically, average salaries are higher, length of career is far higher, likelyhood of catastrophic injury is lower lifespan post career is longer not mention I wouldn't want him to have to spend his career in thug dominated locker rooms. I would love to see some of our talented athletes playing football and busting stereotypes but its hard to blame them for making the logical choice in choosing baseball over football

Jeff Samardzija's talents are being wasted as a middle inning reliever for the Cubs. He deserves a shot at starting or closing, but he's been pigeonholed as a reliever.

Matt Holiday is an all star for the Cards who chose baseball over football.
