I have not seen him mentioned here. Covey was a freshman wr for Utah last year that led the team in receiving and kick and punt returns. The kid is only 5'9" but he is just as elusive if even more than Ryan Switzer. The problem here is that he is not listed on Utah's 2016 team roster. I can't find if he transferred or quit or whatever. Does anyone know what happened to this great white athlete?

Forget it I just answered my own question. He is going to start serving a 2 year LDS mission. Damn Mormons ! :( How come the blacks and polys on BYU never have to go on missions? I have never recalled one black or poly player ever serving a mission while playing for BYU.

I would say age is one of the biggest obstacles for Mormon players. A lot of these guys are extremely talented but by the time they're eligible to graduate or good enough for shot at next level they're in their mid 20s. Good point about minority players, I can't recall any of them going on LDS missions, just our talented white guys .

Yeh I brought this up a while back concerning basketball player Frank Jackson a highly rated guard who signed with Duke. Much is made about his Mormon ties but there seems to be a near zero chance this guy goes on a two year mission. Instead he will be sniffing out a pro career the whole way.

I mentioned Covey numerous times last football season...dynamic; explosive ; playmaker that will be hard to keep off an NFL roster despite his size!
