Brand ruptures Achilles,C Chris Kaman

This doesn't help Kaman. He was already the starter and racked up lots of points and rebounds. There was never a time where the other players held him back. All this does is hurt the Clippers. Not that it matters because the Clippers are irrelevant, but still. Kaman will get no benefit from this.

This will be a leadership opportunity for 25-year-old Chris Kaman.

And, his rebounding numbers and scoring numbers were down last year, with onlyhis blocking numbers increasing modestly from the previous year. I don't blame any external forces for this. He took shots, but his shooting percentage and PPG were down.

FACT: Brand got injured.

FACT: Kaman needs to play better than he did last season. If next season he scored 15 PPG and grabbed 10or 11 RPG, that would be great.

Chris is a good player, but he's not a leader -- all goofed out on ADD.
Not a diss, just a fact.

Kaman DID average 15.7 PPG, 12.7 RPG and 2.8 BPG (ALL career highs) last season!

It was only logical that Kaman would score and rebound more without Elton Brand. Before Kaman had his excellent season last year, I considered him a border-line bust. After all, he was picked 6th overall.

He was FORCED to emerge and mature last year and he did so! He stepped up to the opportunity!

Kaman's stock rose and that's all that mattered to me, not the future of the Clippers. As for this season, Kaman is now averaging 14.3 PPG on 57% shooting. In a "perfect world" he would be averaging at least 18 PPG...

Kaman might get traded. If he isn't traded, he'll probably be screwed because they acquired ball-hog Zach Randolph.

Dirk needs a friend. I hope Kaman goes to Dallas. He'll surely be an upgrade over DeSagana Diop.

This is just speculation, but the Miami Heat could also use Kaman. With Kaman, the Heat would definitely make the playoffs.

I would like to see Kaman on a better team than the Baron Davis/Zach Randolph nightmare Clippers...

If Dallas wants to get Kaman, they'll have to make Josh Howard part of the trade package. Mr. Cuban doesn't want to let Howard go, even though he has been a disgrace ever since he made that TIMEOUT during the 2006 NBA finals. Dirk gets most of the blame, when Howard's action really cost them the championship series.

So the trade is not likely since it may involve Howard as well. It's Dirk who needs to be traded, to a team in prime position for a championship.

As for Kaman, Miami is a good destination, but it may as well involve Michael Beasley to make it happen.

What exactly is going on with Kaman. I notice he hasn't been playing for a while so I figure he's injured. Anyone know when he will be back?

Update: Kaman, out since Nov. 26 because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot, will play Tuesday against Cleveland, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Recommendation: An MRI last week cleared Kaman to return. The center is targeting playing about 20 minutes against the Cavaliers.
