Anyone else catch this fight? FSN or one of the ESPNs is running it over and over.

Billy Zumbrun fought a great fight against a huge disadvantage in size and reach, loosing by a contraversial split descision. Even John Salley said Bowe lost the fight.

Unfortunately, all anyone seems to talk about is how out of shape Bowe was, as opposed to admitting that a white guy can actually box.

Yes, I saw this joke of a fight. The fix also seemed to be on as the referee inexplicably took a point away from Zumbrun in the late rounds. You probably will never see a white guy win a close fight against anybody of darker skin. I can add several examples to the already given that have happened in the last couple of years and I don't follow boxing that closely.

Golota v. Byrd

Golota v. Ruiz

Brown vs. Bell (recent cruiserwieght IBF title fight)

Delahoya v. Felix Strum

I can probably think of a couple more if I pick my brain. These fights are all fairly recent and were not really close - the judges just got it wrong. Anybody else think of more?

Yeah, the point taken away was screwy, although to be the Devil's advocate, Bowe's early knockdown of Zumbrun might have been the margin in the judges mind, although I think Bowe also would have been knockeddown, possibly even TKO'd,had he not been saved by the bell. The bad part is the skill and courage being shown by a virtually unknownZumbrun against a much larger opponentis downplayed with excuses about how out of shape Bowe was, even though Zumbrun was landing well early in the fight before fatigue could have been slowing Bowe down. I'm not sure Zumbrun really has the size to in the same division with guys as big as Riddick, but the totallack of praise for his work in that fight is ridiculous.

I saw the fight and Zumbrun was ready to fight.I loved
how Bowe tried to mock him only to be embarassed himself.
What was Bowe thinking? He is too dumb to think and he
can't dance. That was the worst funky chicken ever!
He must not have the hip flexibility.lol.It was obviously
another bad decision which is the norm in boxing these
days.

Byrd did enough to get the draw

Golota let Ruiz back into the fight after dominating early Golota faded down the stretch

Brown vs Bell was a robbery

So was Felix Sturm vs DLH

Golota however was NOT robbed

Gee Pugnus, before the fight everyone seemed so sure Bowe was going to chew Zumbrun up and spit him out.

After the fight, it was all about how brain damaged and fat Bowe was. What a change!

Say what you will Pugnus, to fight like that against Bowe's size, reach, and power requires boxing skill, and when a journeyman like Zumbrun shows this skill, it's worthy of notice.

I sometimes wonder what kind of insecurities a people must suffer if they can't stand even a few good white boxers..it's not like we think boxing or any other sport needs to be 100% white. That is if you're actually black Pugnus, which is a fifty-fifty proposition at best.

Pleazze before the fight everybody was saying how OUT of shape Bowe looked . The guy only did 2 weeks training . I will cleave to you that Zumbrun was supposed to be a easy victory.

Everybody knows that the only reason Bowe is still allowed to fight is because he is staying away from states with Boxing commisions that would take away his licence.

Zumbrun did better then expected bully for him that does'nt make him special .

Bowe was slightly damaged goods Before the Golota fights the Holyfield fights took alot out of him. Golota finished the job and got DQd twice in the proces.

Golota has never won the big fight Bowe has at least once won the big fight.

Bowe lost in the biggest fight of all-LIFE.He threw his money away, beat his sister, kidnapped his family. He is the ultimate loser. When Marciano retired he made more money after boxing then he did as a fighter. But then Rocky had common sense and wasn't lacking brains like Bowe.

Can anyone think of a white fighter in the last ten years that has won a controversial decision over a black fighter? I can't.

I'm not going to say everytime a white fighter loses a bout to a black or latino that he got robbed, but I do recall a fight that fits that category.Back in '92 Dave Tiberi fought James Toney for the latters IBF middleweight title.Let me tell you,Tiberi got jobbed. One judge got it right and gave it to Tiberi,117-111,but the other two were not paying attention and gave the fight to Toney with identical scores of 115-112.Tiberi was a lightly-regarded fighter out of Delaware and I suppose it would be considered a bit of an embarassment if Toney didn't win,so Toney received the gift. The decision so infuriated Senator William Roth ofDelaware that he chaired a Senate Investigating Committee which began looking into corruption in boxing.

Toney also received two gifts against Mike McCallum is Mike white ?. The Tiberi fight was a lightly bit closer then the myth would have you believe .

All fighters regardless of color can be the victim of gift decisions.

The notion that only white fighters are victims is bullsh*t.

Are you guys aware that a movie about the life of Jim Braddock is coming out? Stars Russell Crowe.

``Cinderella Man'' (opening Friday), Russell Crowe gets worked over and worked out as Depression-era boxer Jim Braddock.

Crowe picked up a special keepsake to remember his role as Depression Era boxer JIM BRADDOCK in new movie CINDERELLA MAN - the receipt the US Government gave the boxer for paying back his unemployment "relief."

Proud Braddock insisted on returning the cash given to him while unemployed - and handed over a portion of his winnings to officials, who gratefully gave the boxer a receipt of his payback.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?
