Well, I don't know who might replace him, but I hope he's more white friendly than Marty.

Still it's a shame that 14-2 gets you fired. I know the reasons, still don't think it's right.

no harm done... Chargers had no white skill players on offense other than Rivers, not even tight ends... defense was not much better with talented Wilhelm riding a bench...

Nah, it was his something like 4-13 career playoff record that got him fired. Combined with bonehead decision after bonehead player meltdown vs the Pats. Not the 14-2.

Good riddance. I'm a Cleveland Browns fan. I jumped up and down going crazy while he put the Browns D in prevent and literally let Elway win that game with the 98 yard drive. I've hated him ever since.

The only racial angle is that hell would freeze over before a black coach would be fired from a 14-2 team. And the media wouldn't be running innocuous articles like the one currently on CNNSI entitled "Readers' picks to replace Marty." It would be a huge story and totally focused on race and the "outrage" of the usual suspects if say Tony Dungy had gotten the heave-ho if the Colts had lost in the playoffs this year.

But that said, I too won't miss "Caste System by the Book" Marty either.

Marty's racial preferences aside, how do you fire a 14-2 coach? It's absurd!

A lot happened for him to get fired. The article is long, but I can understand how it happened. Strange circumstances, but maybe they will get a better coach from our perspective.

I recall that many LA Ram fans wanted Chuck Knox fired after the Rams blew a playoff game to the Vikings in 1976. Knox had won 4 straight divisional titles, but failed to reach the Super Bowl. They lost to the Vikings again in 1977, and Knox went to Buffalo. He would have been fired anyway, most likely.

They did have the only white cornerback (Steve Gregory).

I was all for Marty when the Zionista owner of the Redskins sent him packing years ago.

Even winning the Super Bowl can't guarantee being rehired as the coach. Ask Jimmy Johnson. My ailing old memory fails me -- Who was the gentleman from the college ranks who replaced Johnson, went on to win and then lose some Super Bowls as the Cowboys' coach?

I think you're thinking of Barry Switzer, but he never lost a super bowl with the cowboys. He rode the wave of Jimmy Johnsons draft picks to an undeserved super bowl title

Ah yes, Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer, 2 Caste System zealots who I despise more than almost any NFL coaches I know of.

Wonder if anyone will sign him off the Eagles' practice squad...

Speaking of *discarded* white CBs, what's up with Jason Sehorn lately?

Barry Switzer all but said he didn't think any white player short of Steve Owens could have started on his Okie championship teams of the 80's. Of course if Steve Owens dealt drugs and tried to rape a co-ed maybe he would have fit on the those championship teams.....

As a lifelong Cowboy fan I also despise Switzer and am embarrassed he was ever a head coach for the Cowboys. Cutty..you said you were a Cleveland Browns fan and that you hated Shottenheimer. The Cleveland Plain Dealer(world's most liberal paper) ran a article about Shottenheimer and Cowler being the likely two candidates to replace Romeo Crennel. Any thoughts on that?Edited by: guest301

Groundhog Day! Schottenheimer and Norv Turner once again succeed each other in a coaching job. Each of these gents are quality coaches and decent men. They have spotted records, but what do you expect when coaching in the Black Supremicist NFL? Perhaps they thought that Dan Snyder was the bottom of the barrel of owner to work for. They were right. Now they've discovered that all the rest of the owners are right down there in the Vegemite with the rest of the Zionazi owners. Norv is perhaps less Caste than Marty. I think either one of them would salt their teams with good White players if the penalties for doing so were not so severe.

Eh.. The Chargers could have done better here. Did they bring in Art Shell for a mock interview to meet the Rooney rule? Why not Mike Martz, the man is an offensive genius. Turner is a solid coordinator but never has had the success as a head coach. To be fair he's had two micro managment owners in Daniel Snyder and Al Davis, the situation won't be much different this time AJ Smith will be pulling the strings.

Cameron and Phillips called the plays most of the Patriot game anyway so it wasn't all Marty's fault. They both have jobs elsewhere and Marty is gone. Kind of messed up in a way, but can't feel too bad considering the teams he's fielding. Will he ever get another coaching gig. Maybe Oakland hires him next year him after Al gets sick of his coach of week.
