Like baseball a lot of time and money is being poured into getting blacks and hispanics playing tennis. The hype machine is in full gear as the Williams sisters success has managed to do two things at once. Chill out white female American players and increase black numbers.
There is a five year old kid--shades of Freddie Adu hype -that is getting national press. His mother is from Finland and you can bet if the father was say German this kid would not be getting any press. But his dad is black---a blonde headed kid with black features-any mixed kid is black in athletic acheivement so this won't help obliviate stereotypes.--
With Donald Young set up as the next black American hope I think tennis is heading towards what baseball is doing in a way. Whites especially American whites will become more and more sparse.
A recent study showed that black fans care about the black players and not that interested in tennis. Again with the Williams sisters black fans rejoice and luxuriate in the notion of black athletic superiority and watching white folk squirm. It is not about the sport but about racist black fans who don't give a rat's ass about white players.

I've heard more about Donald Young this week than in the past few years combined. He made it to the semi-finals of the ATP 500 event in Washington D.C. These events are just below Masters 1000 events which in turn are just below the 4 Grand Slams. (Monfils is in the final so it was close to being an all black final. I'm sure that would've raised the profile of the sport in the US!)

Watching the 3rd set of Djokovic v Monfils I think it is becoming clear that the "Frenchman" has a fitness issue. As matches go on he fades. This is now a pattern. Right now in the 3rd set he looks absolutely shattered.

Donald Young loses 17th match in a row

He's four loses short of the record.

Now I don't post this only to point out yet another afflete's shortcomings and pour salt in the wounds. I don't follow much tennis but clearly this guy just isn't any good which leads me to the main point. How was this guy on the USA Olympic team? Either the selection comittee was practicing some extreme minority pandering or USA tennis is in despair like never before. I mean to put him on the squad is to concede defeat.

Despite being on the verge of being the GOAT - consecutive losses don't feel sorry for him. I read today that he's made $150K during his losing streak! He's fallen from 38 to 80 in the rankings in just six months.

Young obviously must have some lingering chronic injuries to be performing so badly. After all, as a member of the athletically superior race, he should run circles around all of the slow, stiff, clumsy white guys he plays against. Of course, It could be that he is just a lower-rung representative of his race, since all of the "Real Athletes" are playing in the NFL and NBA!

The hype train about Young was unbelievable you would think he had Pete Sampras talent. At this point of his career he would kill to be Malvai Washington. He looks like just another top 40 ish player who if he was anything but Black would be ignored by everybody but a local paper.

He could have been chosen because nobody wanted to play in the Olympic tournament. There are no breaks in the ATP tour, so pros have to decide what tournaments to play. As great as the Olympic exposure is, if you are a known pro the week off is probably better for you as you don't earn anything suiting up for America.

In Young's case he should be getting plenty of time off since he's losing every Monday in the first round.

Mardy Fish decided not to play for several reasons including his recent preference for mostly playing closer to home and because he's already won an Olympic silver (2004). He had a heart scare and so was out of the game for some time so playing too much in too short a time might also have come into it. Also, as I said in the Olympic tennis thread, the players were chosen before Wimbledon and it was only after then that Young fell behind Sam Querrey in the rankings. However I wouldn't rule out favouritism.

No one is as arrogant as the Williams crowd but Young did have some long standing dispute with the USTA. Last year he even launched an expletive-ridden rant against the USTA on Twitter:

The dispute picked up again Monday, when McEnroe held a conference call with reporters in which he demanded an apology and all but called Young an ingrate with an overbearing family.

Young's tweet came out after he lost last Friday in the final of a tournament that determined who would receive the USTA's wild-card entry into the French Open.

It channeled the hit Cee Lo song -- the scrubbed-up version of which is called "Forget You" on most family radio stations.

"[Expletive] USTA! Their full of [expletive]! They have [expletive] me for the last time!" Young wrote shortly after his loss to Tim Smyczek.

McEnroe, the head of the USTA's player development program, countered with the same basic message, minus the swearing, by saying he was offended and calling for Young to apologize if he wants to continue his relationship with the USTA.

"I'm offended for people on our team that have worked very hard," McEnroe said. "When he said what he said, it was taken quite personally by members of the player development team. I think Donald should apologize for what he said. At that point, we can all move on."

McEnroe detailed a laundry list of grant money, coaching and training opportunities Atlanta-based Young has received from the USTA since 2005. But Young also has stayed under the tutelage of his parents, Donald Sr. and Illona
, and that has caused tension over the years, as the parents and the USTA have differed on the best training regimen for the 21-year-old player.

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/news/story?id=6426973

His parents must think if Richard Williams can do it "so can we!" (Or is it "Yes We Can"?)

Donald Young managed to break his first round losing streak by beating some guy I've never heard of in the very small Winston-Salem tournament this week.

That's where the good news ends for Young who was hoping to re-build his confidence with a win at next week's US Open. Today he got news of his first round opponent: a guy called Roger Federer.

As if it weren't bad enough that blacks play the race card, now we have whites doing it.

All tennis fans probably remember the racism accusations against blonde Australian Lleyton Hewitt (who also has a beautiful blonde wife and three blonde children:icon_grin:) from the 2001 US Open when he (rightly) accused a black line official of racial favouritism in a match against black American James Blake.

Well now, after the fat loser Michael Russell was defeated at the Newport, Rhode Island grass court tournament he launched a verbal tirade against Hewitt on his Facebook page. (LOL Facebook! How gay is that?).

http://www.tennisgrandstand.com/201...calls-lleyton-hewitt-a-racist-and-douche-bag/

Whether Hewitt was making excuses for losing or not, given the political climate it is really low class of Russell, a white guy, to accuse Hewitt of racism. The fact that all the men at the USTA (especially Serena fan Andy Roddick) love Michael Russell is enough for me to cheer against the US in next year's Davis Cup.

You said it all..............Now if I express my thoughts on this, I will be accused from these 2-3 severely insecure guys who hang in this forum and fail to even UNDERSTAND who I target when I talk. I have come to the conclusion that it's not Jews, Negroes etc the people to blame for this situation. All this anti-white crusade started from other whites in the US back in the late 50's and early 60's.........That's the sad truth and I can't find a normal explanation to this. Probably personal profit or because they happen to worship and adore Negroes for sexual purposes?

I was seeing the news about Zinnerman or whatever his name is, with my wife this morning and I told her : "Look all these SELF LOATHING WHITE AMERICAN BASTARDS protesting in favor of the violent Negro-Thug who would have killed this Mexican dude just cause he felt like it"..........She asked me if I honestly think that there would not be A FEW Greeks doing the same if that happened here and I agreed that of course there would be these 300-400 cowards who cover their faces and burn the Greek flag as a hobby......but exactly there's the difference: here would be 300-400, maximum 1000 Anarchists doing that, watching the news and hearing the journalists I thought that the VAST MAJORITY of white Americans were in favor of the Negro.

I am sorry from fellow white proud men or patriotic Americans, but no I have no faith in the US, it's a lost case and of course this is not THE FAULT OF THE WHITE MEN IN HERE...........you just happen to be A VERY SLIGHT MINORITY though. Or at least this is how it looks like. I swear I saw more white women (some holding black babies, I suppose they gave birth to these mutants), white boys and white people in general protesting in favor of the Negro than Negroes..............USA IS THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. Plain and simple.

Picture everything with Zimmerman happened the same except the kid who was killed was white and the watchman a negro. Not one, not a single negro would support putting the black watchman in jail. Many of the drunk white pigs wouldn't care about the white kid being shot by the negro. Negroes of today are the most coddled and pandered race in human history.

It looks like the hype job for the next great American tennis star has officially begun:

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8309613/rising-tennis-star-sloane-stephens-us-open

You guessed it right, Whites need not apply.

While waiting to get my hair cut today, I browsed through an issue of the Cultural Communist, black supremacist disgrace called ESPN The Magazine. After going through page after page of articles and ads showing mostly black faces, I came upon an article about Sloane Stephens, by (what else?) a black writer, Howard Bryant. What Bryant need not state explicitly but which is obvious to anyone not slavishly ignorant of system orthodoxy is that the "hype machine" is for blacks only. Excerpts:

"A year ago, 'It' hype machine was anointing its newest member while it was coldly reassessing its most recent inductee. Sloane Stephens, the best hope for U.S. tennis since the Williams sisters burst onto the scene, was basking in the afterglow of beating an injured Serena in the Australian Open quarterfinals. Stephens lost her semifinal match to Victoria Azarenka, but the hype machine had already been ignited. Her wonderful face, all brightness, innocence and shock and hope, had lit up flat-screens around the country. She created one moment, and these days, that's all it takes [if you're a Negro]. She was next.

"Simultaneously, the hype machine was on pause for Robert Griffin III, because he had torn his knee to pieces guiding his team to the playoffs. . .

"Today paints a much more sober picture of both athletes. . . As for Stephens, she did not Sputnik after beating Serena; she never got off the ground. The hype machine enjoyed a short Williams-Stephens Twitter spat, but the throne-abdication plotline turned out to be nothing more than words and pictures. Stephens hasn't challenged Williams. She hasn't yet won a WTA tournament. She hasn't even reached a final. In the 22 tournaments she has played since beating Williams in Australia, Stephens has been eliminated in the first or second round nine times.

"For now, her struggles have been massaged into a different narrative -- that Stephens is a 'big tournament' player who raises her game for grand slams." blah, blah, blah, blah and so forth and so on

Gael Monfils of France has talent and today he forced Djokovic to a third set tie break. But in doing so he demonstrated his lack of professionalism with his clowning around. Watch this 1 min. 46 video. The unnecessary tweener - though he did get the point. The bizarre charging of the net before a Djokovic overhead slam, throwing his racquet, and then the ridiculous soccer header at 1.14.:icon_rolleyes: He seems to prefer being a circus entertainer than a serious competitor:

[video=youtube;z9yI89hLKPc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9yI89hLKPc[/video]

The short video does not show his temper tantrum directed towards the umpire over a (justifiable) delay of game warning.

Taylor Townsend to play Serena Williams in the first round of the US Open. If they had a weigh-in like they do in boxing this would break a tennis record.

I'm betting they make this the highlight of the opening day, putting it on during their prestigious prime time night session. Given the content of the opening presentations of recent years - all PC all the time - this will be appropriate, no doubt accompanied by the usual commentator drooling over Billie Jean King, whom the tennis centre is named after.

Haha, I thought the same thing when I saw the headline earlier. For probably the only time in my life, I'll "root" for Townsend the water buffalo against the spoiled brat and obvious drug cheat Williams.

With one Great Black Tennis Hope after another flopping, Madison Keys is being given the same hype Sloane Stephens was a couple of years ago. Stephens has dropped to number 33 in the rankings.

But all it takes is one good tournament by a black American and the hype machine instantly kicks into overdrive. Keys beat Venus Williams at the 2015 Australian Open in January before losing to Serena in the semis.

Writing for Sports Illustrated, L. Jon Wertheim -- who's never seen a black tennis player he didn't think would be a star -- declared the Aussie Open to be Keys' "tennis cotillion, her arrival into high society." "I think she can be the best in the world," gushed Serena.

We'll see. What we do know is that Keys will continue to be showered with media praise and likely corporate endorsements, all based on one tournament showing.
