Black Snake Moan

I was watching SNL and a commercial came on for a movie called black snake moan. I thought it was a skit, part of Sat. night live, but I looked on the internet and it is a real movie. It had Samuel Jackson with some white woman tied up by a chain and he was screaming at her. Anybody else see this?

I haven't seen that yet. But what I did see yesterday was the Gatorade commercial that has Dwayne Wade dunking on a white guy. They just haaaaaaad to have it be a white guy getting posterized to sell their pisswater. That was no accident, I'm sure.

I've seen the previews for Black Snake Moan. From what I gathered, the girl is on the run or an addict or something, and Jackson plays the wizened elderly black man who is going to help her overcome her problems through old time methods. Or at least it seemed that's what the plot was about. Hard to tell. There was some sexual tension between Jackson and the girl even in the previews, and in one scene Jackson is berated by another black for 'keeping a white girl' at home. "Nuttin' but trouble.."

This is another one of those movies where the roles could never be reversed. There could never be a wizened old white man who helps a runaway black girl overcome her addictions by keeping her chained to a tree. No way.

It's also another movie I won't be wasting any money on, either, although I'm sure every black person in the country will see it twice.

i've seen both commercials. the Black Snake Moan is nothing but black porn. hell, just look at the title!

as for the dwayne wade commercial, it wasn't even a real play or with real NBA players. every guy on the court was black though, EXCEPT for the dude who got dunked on. tell me that wasn't planned.

i pointed the ridiculousness of it out to my two friends i was watching TV with, and they said i should just not let it get to me. wow.

Of course it was. Just another attempt to emasculate White males in front of a national audience. But what I want to know is, when we are going to see a White guy make a fool out of a brutha in a commercial. I'd like to see this happen in two sports in particular: UFC/MMA and hockey.

Not let it get to you? With that kind of attitude towards this, they don't sound very much like "friends" to me, Chitwood.

Jimmy, I assume these are the friends you were telling me about last week. Sounds like you have some Caste System missionary work to do. More power to you man. Pointing out the double standard is a good start though. If they see it enough, maybe they'll start to care.
