In the late 90's, Clifford "The Black Rhino" Etienne was released from prison after serving 10 years of a 40 year sentence for, among other things, armed robbery.
Boxing in prison, he fought as a pro soon after his release. His record was a list of who's not who although he managed to gain wins over Brewster and Botha. He signed a television deal with HBO and was a contender and a hope for many blacks. Then he met Tyson.
Tyson pasted him but good and his bell was rung before the first round bell could ring. Thus he fell out of contention and hope.
Still fullfilling his TV contract, and getting paid, he fought Brock and was knocked out and then fought Valuev and was knocked out, completing the hat-trick.
His latest trick should certainly be his last. He robbed a cheque cashing outfit while carrying a firearm, stold a vehicle with 2 children in it, and shot at the police who tried to stop him. He tried to use the ol' " I was on drugs, I didn't know what I was doing" line. The judge chucked out that defense. He's looking at a very long sentence and likely won't get a second chance this time.

He won't see the light of day ever again. He obviously loves the embraces of other men better than his wife as that's all he wil get for the rest of his life...........

Etienne didn't beat Botha, the fight was a draw. Botha was robbed. Etienne was down twice and the White South African fought the colored boy in New Orleans-Etienne's hometown!!

Update:Heavyweight Clifford Etienne was sentenced to 160 years in prison on Thursday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. "The Black Rhino," who fought in several high-profile bouts, including a 49-second loss to Mike Tyson, was sentenced for a crime spree that included robbing a check cashing business, carjacking and kidnapping a family, and attempting to shoot two policemen. He started boxing during a previous jail stint and compiled a 29-4-2 record with 20 KOs. His last fight was in May 2005, a third round KO loss to seven-foot WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev.
Thursday, June 22 2006... Well he will relearn the meaning of taking it to the hole.........
