Eastsideboxing has an article today about what James Toney said after his fight with Hasim Rahman. Toney said that a white will never be heavyweight champion.

The racist buffoon apparently can't count as 2 of the 4 champs at heavyweight are already white. After April 22, it will be 3 out of 4, and by year's end it will be 4 of 4.

Yes I read that article.Toney is nothing more than a fat piece of sh*t who had to take steroids in order to beat John Ruiz.He is and always has been a racist.Toney is a typical House N****r.

If Toney means undisputed heavyweight champion, he might be right. It wouldn't surprise me if the powers that be deliberately promote and arrange matches that prevent a white fighter from unifying the belts.

Some of the comments on ESB point out that Toney is talking trash in hopes of getting a fight with one of the top white heavyweights. That it would make a great payday because everyone would want to see Toney get KTFO by a white guy. Well, that may be but Toney is still racist. I pointed out on this site before his comments about Eddie Futch before Futch started training him.

I wouldn't mind Toney making those statements if white men could say the same and speak their mind as freely as he. If a white fighter said something like this, they'd revoke his license and ban him from boxing.

One reason that the Heavyweight Title isn't what it used to be is the multiple belts. This state of affairs prevents one fighter from becoming a "major star."

Speaking of the idea of a White Champion, I remember when Gerry Cooney was approaching his fight with Larry Holmes, now a quarter-century ago. My impression at the time was that most of the sporting press wanted Cooney to win. This was partly because Homes wasn't interesting and Cooney would create more attention. Still, some writers did want Cooney to win because he was white. These were usually older men who are retired now.

Toney talks off the cuff, If he wa really racist he wouldn't have a white trainer. He is a wrestling act that is wearing thin. He will get badly ko'd by one of the top fighters today. If Rahman had any ability he would have done it last month.........

Toney is in a state of pure frustration, he is too old and to fat to be a real contender and he see's no black fighter on the seen that can slow down the European Express in boxing. He had two shots at the title and blew them both. He should not get another automatic shot at the winner of the Maskaev-Rahman fight, but should meet Sultan Ibragimov or the winner of the Brock-Timor Ibragimov fight. Toney's record as a heavyweight is not impressive.
The overweight/overhyped slob could go into Pride fighting and fight Fedor Emelianenko! Toney could pick up another paycheck and he could tell the Russian how tough African-American's are! Maybe he could last longer then Zulu did [26 seconds].
Alexander Povetkin made the commet that Russians are taking over in boxing. I believe he is right!!

Yeah if Toney fought a young contender he would get totally exposed. He is big name in the thread bare division so he has conned his way into titleshots. I just wish the division was unified so that guys would have to earn titleshots not cherry pick them...
