Billy Ray Smith Jr., a 10-year veteran with the Chargers, passed away yesterday with CTE dementia. Hewas just 64. His father was one of my favorite players with the Baltimore Colts.
I remember him from the Dan Fouts led Chargers teams that could never get over the hump, sad news about his last few years. He seemed to have led a charmed life until football related dementia had it's affects on.
