Cassiodorous got me thinking with his comment about Bruschi being his favortie football name. There are a ton of football names that just sound cool! My vote i think is Kleinsasser. Also Brian Bosworth is a sick name for a Lb! Feel free to add!!

Hate to admit it, but San Francisco's Arnaz Battle has a pretty cool sounding name. Rock Cartwright is sort of cool too. I played high school ball with a dude named Lance Anger.Edited by: PhillyBirds

Jacksonville had a crappy LB named TJ Slaughter. Colt McCoy is almost too perfect for a Texas QB though.

Dick Butkus is another. Sounds like a tough middle line backer. We can't forget Johhny "Blood" McNally.

Bronko Nagurski and Dick Butkus.

What was the name of the lineman who played for the Saints, big white guy with long blond hair and tribal tattoo? He tried to rip the head off of a Jets' defensive player in one game because the guy brutally face masked Aaron Brooks. I don't remember his name and believe he may not even be playing anymore. If I recall correctly his name seemed to fit him - tough.

Not the best name but when he was cut after 2 years in the NFL Ken Yon-Rambo had the famous line from First Blood played (from Colonel Trautman)"Your mission is over Rambo...". This had me in stitches when I heard it...

A late entry and perhaps my favorite clown football name from the 1985-86 Minnesota Vikings:

Buster Rhymes

The name later inspired the name of the rapper known as Busta Rhymes. They are both probably in jail somewhere today bustin rhymes.Edited by: Kaptain Poop

Tom Rathman of Nebraska
Ken Strong
"The King" Hugh McElhenny
Mike Curtis
Gino Marchetti
Ray Nitschke

an of course, Red Grange

Every one of these names sound like what a football players name should be.

Bart Starr! Hollowood would reject a script that had a winning quarterback named Bart Starr. No one would believ it.
