Bentley Released

The humorously named LeCharles Bentley asked for and received his release from the Browns yesterday. Bentley,an overhyped center,signed a huge free agent contract with Cleveland following the '05 season and then promptly blew out his knee in the first practice of training camp in '06 and never played a down for the team.


Now, when the media next assembles one of itsincredibly overused butbeloved "bust lists" of draft picks and free agents, will Bentley be at the top of the lists of free agent busts? Yeah, right.

I don't really agree with labelling guys with tough luck injuries "busts". Of course that doesn't stop the media from doing it to guys like Andy Katzenmoyer or Brian Bosworth who played very well before injuries put an end to their careers.

I feel bad for Bentley who seemed legitimately excited to play for his home team.
