Okay, I'll go ahead and start a thread for this game. I'm watching it but there isn't much to write about so far.

I saw one play where two Bears almost sacked Hasselbeck. Both of them hit him across the face mask and top of the helmet. I waited for the roughing call or hit to the head but nothing. It was very similar to a hit Considine put on Mike Vick that got the Falcons fifteen yards and a first down though.

Wow... Grossman just threw a perfect pass down the middle that hit Berrian right in stride. Even the announcers are talking about the 'wow' factor in that throw. He threw it from the Bears 35 to about the 15 = 50 yards easy. Run after the catch for the TD made it a 68 yard pass play. Second longest pass play in Bears' post-season history.

Urlacher back in pass coverage on a Seahawks RECEIVER, stride for stride, bats down the ball. Way to go!

They're praising Urlacher, talking about his speed and how fast he is for a guy who weighs 260 lbs. They showed a clip of him calling an audible on that play after Hasselbeck called an audible for the Seahawks. They commented that Urlacher said he doesn't watch as much film as he used to because he used to 'over-think' the plays and now just wants to react. Edited by: White Shogun

haha, i just noticed your thread.

good stuff from Brian Urlacher so far, i see Todd Johnson coming back from the injury as well in the mix.

what i am worried about as far as Bears go is that Hillenmeyer hasn't been making many plays this season (obviously hard to be playing alongside Urlacher and Briggs on good defense). he might be replaced after the season, with a "superior, faster" player...

What did you think of that pass by Grossman? One of the best throws in the playoffs so far, IMO.

Seattle is disgusting. two whites out of 22? wtf. at least last year they had JJ in a promiment (albeit reduced in playoffs) role

So far it looks like the Saints will take either of these teams, although the Saints did give up some big plays yesterday.

Yeah..on the one hand I want to pick Bears, but if the Hawks win they play in New Orleans which would give the Saints the edge, so I'm still kinda torn, lol.

I'm looking for Colts - Saints, Pats - Saints.

Grossman fumbles, Seahawks recover.Edited by: White Shogun

yeah, as it stand right now Pats, with Heath Evans, Brady, Thomas, Vrabel, Bruschi have an edge over Colts in my book.

Pats - Saints will seem mighty fine to me. plus it will make it hard for anyone to replace any of the white starters on Saints D.

Nice call on 4th and 1! Bears retake the lead.

I concur.. I didn't like the TD run by Alexander.

Nice scramble by Hasselbeck.

Well, at least Grossman is taking the sacks instead of fumbling or throwing INT's now.

Seahawks are moving the ball pretty good. Bears D looking ordinary right now.

Ouch.. I was just going to praise the white men on the Bears D, they've defended a couple of passes really well.. and then Alexander breaks out for a TD run. Seahawks are up 24-21 now.

Seahawks encroachment penalty gives the Bears a crucial first down inside the Seahawks 10 yard line. Holmgren complains.. very next play Berrian is called for a false start. Weak, weak call.

Muhummad pops up a pass over the middle and it's intercepted by the Seahawks. Very next play, Hasselbeck throws an INT himself. It's noteworthy that neither of the announcers are speaking too negatively about Grossman or Hasselbeck, despite the interceptions and fumbles. I suppose it's because they've both made some great throws in this game, unlike Manning and McNair yesterday.

Okay, I take it back. They're back from the break and thrashing Hasselbeck. He's too seasoned a quarterback to make that throw, it's the kind of throw that drives his coach crazy, etc..

Berrian dropped a pass that was sure TD. The pass from Grossman was a little behind Berrian, but he had it in his arms and dropped it. Edited by: White Shogun

I don't believe that the starting recievers for the Bears are better than
Hass. They stink.

I agree. And despite Colston's consideration for Rookie of the Year, I'm not so sure he is better than Haas, either. Thing is, we'll probably never know.

I'd be my paycheck that Haas makes that catch.

Chains gave the Bears a first down. After the measurement, Troy Aikman says, "That's weird how it happened.. we went from a 4th down.. to a first down.."

Uh, you were expecting 5th down maybe? Edited by: White Shogun

Maybe 5th down will be introduced for all-black offenses as a form of affirmitive action?

Two minutes left...should be a good finish.

Especially when Art Shell is coaching.

Maybe we'll see OT? Chicago didn't do anything with the ball. Seahawks chance to put it away, less than two minutes left. Edited by: White Shogun

Aikman's more complimentary to Hunter Hillenmeyer than any announcer I've ever heard, so I'm willing to cut him some slack for a couple of dumb comments.

Switched to CBS to watch the Chargers - Patriots game. Wouldn't you know it - trashing Grossman. Can't handle the blitz, made some crucial errors, etc. They're talking about him like the Bears lost the game.

The guy made a clutch throw in OT, hit some nice bombs during the game to keep his team in it. He threw one INT and had one fumble on a sack. I'd say it was a decent game over all, without having to add 'for Grossman.' I bet McNair and Manning would love to have played the way Grossman did today.

Yeah, I gotta give Grossman some credit for the way he played today. I mean, in the playoffs everything is ratcheted up a couple of notches and the pressure must be intense. Besides, he outplayed Michael Vick in that huge playoff game in Chicago when it was very cold and sent him back to Atlanta. For that , he's on my good guy list. One more thing. It's not like all the quarterbacks this weekend played flawless football either.

Shaun Alexander was interviewed on ESPN radio today. I was very surprised by some of his comments. He praised Urlacher as one of the best linebackers in the game, and said he was super fast, especially for a guy his size. He said the only way to get Urlacher off his game or beat him is to try and get the cut back when Urlacher is being overly aggressive. Other than that, he said he's extremely difficult to beat.

Question: Does Ray Lewis ever cover receivers?
