I see some Caste Football posters are adding some nice avatars from outside the ones that come with the board, including some moving ones. Does anyone know how others of us can get better avatars? None of the ones that come with the board are sports related. Any other ones that are uploaded can only be 64 x 64 pixels, which is tiny. I'd like to have an avatar of Mickey Mantle, or Mario Lemieux or Steve Yzerman or any of a bunch of others but don't know how to size them to fit the 64 x 64 requirement.

The best way I have found is to find the image you want, and it doesn't have to be specifically an avatar, or even a 64X64 pic, left click on properties, highlight the address, and copy it into the box on the Caste Football profile page. Then instead of trying to upload it(which is where the access denied comes up), just preview that address instead. If it looks good on that screen, save your changes and check to see if it looks ok on the message boards.
Mine worked fine that way, however, if you do get an avatar from an avatar specific site, you will need to save the image on your computer first, or they will take it off automatically. Avatarity.com has that policy, not sure about the rest. My recommendation is to find the image you want in a small size and try to preview it. Let me know how it works for you.

Well, forget that advice. The site I got mine from just took it off. I guess I'd better study on this topic some more before I try to act the (expert). Sorry.

If you want your avatars on line send them to me. I have an on-line photo storage location that I can put them in (just like the pictures here) so they will be available all the time.

PS

Note: I can also resize pictures for use as an avatar. I also have a large amount of white athlete pictures that can be used. Here are some.

jaxvid, how do I email you my avatar, I don't see your email address on your profile. I have one I want to send to you if you'll let me know where to send it. I gave you my email address in a PM on this site. Let me know something when you can. Those are cool avatars you posted above as well.

If you want an avatar posted send it to me at
jaxvid@sbcglobal.net

Any picture is OK I can size it to fit. Note that the avatar is much smaller then the picture so a close up is best.

The avatar will be on-line. You only need to paste the link into the box in your profile. It can also be used elsewhere.

Please send me a PM when you send a pic to my other email so I make sure and check for you.

Thanks bjan. I was lucky to find one that nice. It's the 3'rd National Confederate Flag. It was official for just over a month before the end of the war, so it saw hardly any actual use. There are only a handful of originals left because there were so few made. It was made to replace the 2'nd National flag, which was called the Stainless Banner. The only difference between the two was there was no red bar across the fly end of the 2'nd National. They added the bar because they said when the wind was calm, the 2'nd National looked like a flag of truce. The 3'rd National also had a nickname, the Blood-Stained Banner.
