Aussie season gets into swing

when I first started watching track in the early 70s long jumpers with the speed of these guys would have doubled up and run in our 4 x 100.
I guess you can't do this anymore but it really made for some fun. Doing the relay really gave them a totally different (i.e.team) experience.
My last coach who is now 57 is still number five female LJer on our national list with her 6.72 legal and 6.90 (excess wind) from way back in '72. She used to often get a relay guernsey and loved the challenge and comraderie. It was a fun event after the intense and personal nature of the jumps.
