Another good performance was put on by Arturo Gatti last night.He showed once again that,when he needs to,he can box instead of slugging it out which is his trademark style of fighting.Use the jab stick and move and sometimes the knockout will comeas it did against Jesse James Leija in the 5th round.It was a sneaky right hand that decked Leija the first time as I think Jesse thought he had enought distance between him and Gatti because he appeared to have his head down figuring he was out of range and relaxeda bit and that's when Gatti through the right which put Jesse down.He got back up only to be met with a barrage of punches from Gatti and this time it was a left hook that Leija away for good.So Arturo retains his 140 pound version piece of tin(I wish there was one champ in every division) and is ready to take on the Mayweather family of nuts and screwballs as head nut Floyd Sr gets set to put his son Floyd Jr in with Gatti later this summer.

Arturo Gatti is set to fight Floyd Mayweather on June 11th in Atlantic City.Gatti's 140 championship is at stake.Also,a week prior to the Gatti fight,Kostya Tszyu will defend his version of the 140 championship against Ricky Hatton which will be on the 5th over in Europe.
The trash-talking has started for the on-again,off-again fight between Arturo Gatti and Floyd Mayweather,which is officialy on and will now take place on June 25.There were two press-conferences held this week.It wasn't planned that way but Gatti couldn't attend the original presser because of a stomach virus,so Floyd took the time to totally run down Gatti by saying how slow Gatti was and how much talking he was going to do to the commentators and to Gatti and the posing he would be doing and basically saying it would be an easy fight.All this talking and posing that Floyd plans to be doing is going to happen while the fight is going on.Arturo had his rebuttal the next day and he said that he was the one that sells the tickets and that every punch that he connects with wil hurt Floyd.When asked about Floyd's legal problems Gatti ansewerd"All I know is that Floyd beats his women and I'm going to make him pay for that".Circle the date of June 25 on your calender guys as this is definately a Superfight and could be the most signifigant win by a white fighter in some time.
Although this fight is about six weeks away,I think the buzz surrounding this fight is ready to start.This fight has the potential to be a fight of the year candidate,but I think it may be a little one-sided since Gatti cuts too easily.Gatti may try to box a little at first,but when he starts to get hit a bit too much,and he will since Floyd is so fast and Gatti is not known as a defensive fighter,then he will start to brawl and will be so open to counters that eventually he will be busted open and the fight will be stopped because of cuts.This fight will be similar to Gatti's fight with De La Hoya where Arturo will get his shots in, but will be out-gunned and the fight will be over sometime around the 6th round.Okay,pugnus,your turn.I'm pretty sure I know what your take on the fight will be.
Mayweather wins this to fast for Gatti.Mayweather know Gatti can hurt him on the inside so mayweather wont be standing still trading with Gatti just because he did that against Corley does'nt mean he will try it against Gatti he aint dumb.
