Nope, not gonna happen. There are just way too many good white fighters in the upper weight divisions for them not to fight each other. Look at Klitschko-Chagaev. That's going to be for the Ring belt! There will be an undeniable, irrefutable white Heavyweight champ after that fight. Who wouldn't want that? The top three Super-Middleweights are white: Kessler, Bute, and Froch. The top three MW's are white: Pavlik, Abraham, and Sturm. The five highest ranked fighters at Middleweight and Heavyweight are white.Six of the top eight at Cruiser are white (if you include Arslan.) How can they not fight each other?
Yes, Pavlik-Abraham could be brutal. That's a legitimate concern. But this is boxing. It's a violent sport. Both of their reputations among fans will take a huge hit if this fight doesn't happen. Pavlik has already had one PR disaster with the loss to Hopkins, I don't know if he can afford another one.
And as a boxing fan, I'm very curious who would win. It's simply an interesting match up.
