So I was watching an old episode of "All in the Family" the other day. By the way I love the show and its a shame a show like that could never be produced in today's America. Howver, that is another issue for another time. So Archie in this episode was having a discussion with ultra liberal Michael. They were discussing baseball and it went something like this:

Archie: Well you I like that Jackie Robinson guy but you know...that whole color barrier thing...
Michael: What are you trying to say that blacks should be able to compete with white people the supposed superior race?
Archie; No no. That's not what I meant. Blacks can jump higher and run faster so they belong.

That quote my friends pretty much sums up what the caste system is up against. If a bigot such as Archie Bunker who could give a crap about black people thinks they're better than whites in athletics, then what? And this was all the way back in the early 70s where the NBA and NFL were way more white. This is the kind of upward struggle white guys have got to go through in athletics.

Norman Lear tried his best to make the Archie Bunker character out as a complete idiot/dolt (to drive home Lear's liberal agenda/views). Ironically, ol' Archie is one of the most belove TV characters of all time!

I recall an episode where Bunker and a male Jefferson( the brother of George) got into an argument over what race was better. Jefferson asserted blacks could run faster and jump higher and Bunker's feeble response was the astronaugts were white. You have to remember the show was written by a white liberal and Bunker was always supposed to lose at the end of the show. Irony of ironies the fastest man in the world was Borzov at the time.Edited by: white is right

I'm not sure what you mean by that. I know you're too young to remember when that show originally aired, but "All in the Family" set the stage for all theCulturalMarxist PC crapthat followed. It was a groundbreaking show that was used to humiliate and emasculate white men by portraying a white man with racial pride as stupid and ignorant. It was also considered daring because ofits relative crudeness compared to all previous sitcoms. Produced by the ultra-liberal Norman Lear, "All in the Family" was perhaps the biggest sitcom ever, certainly the one with the biggest impact in moving societal attitudes in the anti-white direction desired by the elites.

Yeah, I remember reading a book about the Robbie Matthews group, the Bruders Schweigen. They were also known as The Order. Norman Lear was on their hit list. They felt the Archie Bunker character was one of the most damaging images of the white male ever put out by Hollywood.

I agree. It's still a show I stop and watch any time I am channel surfing and see it on. I know what they were trying to do with the Archie character and their goals behind it but some of us saw through the crapola and identified totally where Archie was coming from.

I definitely see what your saying Don. I surely was not around when the show was aired so I don't exactly know who it was written by or what they were trying to ultimately convey. So what I mean when I say that I love the show is that Archie Bunker is the man! He tells it like it is but unfortunately the show's scripts' turn it aganist him to make him look like the fool. However, I see through that crap and know where Bunker is coming from and how he's your average hard working American who has his views and sticks to them.

There were a couple of episodes where he came out in front. In the first or second season his 50th birthday was approaching and he ran into a high school friend at Kelseys. The friend seemed so much younger then him and had a young girlfriend and it depressed Archie. Later on he found that the friend dyed his hair didn't wear his glasses and the girlfriend was an escort......

Archie Bunker was a Jewish creation, a caricature of the average white working man.

Norman Lear was a typical goy-hating Jew. The purpose of the program was to degrade and ridicule the white American family.

Yeah, JD said it. Lear used humor to attack the white male. Many people were brainwashed by that show.

In fact I saw Lear in a TV interview say the show marked the end of white-male dominated America which was its intent.

As you would expect, I was "around" when All in the Family first aired. Many people attacked the show at the time because it showed someone with conservative views to be "stupid," as Norman Lear intended. However, there were some people who liked what they heard the "Archie Bunker" character say.

I remember the show well also. As sports historian says there were a lot of people who liked what the Archie chararcter had to say. I remember "Archie Bunker for President T-shirts" at the time. Even now if you watch it the failure of the "meathead" way of thinking is so painfully obvious in all that has happened that it proves Archie was right. For all the liberal bias and every ending that had to show Archie as a fool there were still moments when the right side got in it's licks, something that NEVER happens now on TV.

As an aside, I had the unfortunate luck to look alot like "Meathead" the Rob Reiner/Michael Stivik chararcter(although younger) at the time, so much so that strangers would bring it up on the street.

My father loved "All In The Family," and thus we always watched the show in our house. Looking back on it, Archie Bunker did represent the thinking of many WWII-era whites at the time. Like so many of them, he was prejudiced against other races, homosexuals, etc., but was not capable of effectively explaining why, and thus was easy to defeat in an argument.

The WWII-era generation oversaw the institution of Don King's America, from Affirmative Action to nonstop immigration to feminism to the globalization of everything. This was in spite of the fact that nearly all of them opposed those things. My father, for instance, voted for FDR all four times. I used to ask him why he did that, and his all too typical response was "he had the guts to close the banks," as if that somehow excused all of his unconstitutional meddling and the bloodbath that was WWII. Even in 1968, when he, like so many other white men at the time, was mortified by the Civil Rights movement, he voted for a Civil Rights icon like Hubert Humphrey (because he hated Nixon).

So although Lear was obviously trying to make white men look like buffoons, the character of Archie Bunker was a fairly accurate representation of many whites that I knew well then, most of them family members. Carroll O'Connor gave the character a warmth that the writers never intended him to have, and I think that's the reason he became so beloved by television viewers. Long after I stopped watching the show, I understand that they gradually began transforming Archie's character into something a lot more mainstream, in acknowledgment of his popularity.

To be honest, whenever I watch a bit of an "All In The Family" rerun now, I find it very depressing. Because the show revolved around topical issues that have mostly been forgotten, the show hasn't aged well, imho. Hearing Archie and Gloria "debate" the Equal Rights Amendment or something just as anachronistic just isn't compelling. That's why the timeless classics like "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Green Acres" hold up much better today and are far more entertaining.

"All in the Family" </span>was the US version of popular 60's Britcom "Til Death do Us Part". </span>The aim of that shows' writers was to portray working class patriots as boorish idiots, just as the first waves on non-white immigration were apparently growing and here to stay. Unfortunately the Alf Garnett character was given too much brio and chutzpah and became celebrated for the views he was supposedly undermining.

Garnett was played by Warren Mitchell, a liberal Jew with a very luvvie off-stage voice. Anyway, people would recognise him in the street and tell him he was "dead right about the coons and the pakis". </span>This used to drive Mitchell mad
smiley36.gif

(NB There may have been a secondary aim of casting Mitchell, that of the Jewish elites trying to keep their more working class members in line. Despite the "battle of cable street" myths of the 30s, East End Jews and their descendants are often known for there (um) robust</span> views on social issues. They often became London cabbies (a very respectable trade as it requires an extensive knowledge of the capital's roads, hotels, landmarks etc.) who have both a reputation for both their talkativeness and insensitivity to what is now called PC). The BNP has at least one Jewish councillor in the London suburbs.

There would never be a show where they intentionally make the black/jewish/asian guy a moron with a ditzy wife. It will never happen. We are the target of all jokes on tv.

I did happen to like the song they sang at the beginning.

Those were the Days

Boy, the way Glenn Miller played
songs that made the hit parade
Guys like me we had it made
Those were the days
Didn't need no welfare state
ev'rybody pulled his weight
gee our old LaSalle ran great
Those were the days
And you knew who you were then
girls were girls and men were men
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again
People seemed to be content
fifty dollars paid the rent
freaks were in a circus tent
Those were the days
Take a little Sunday spin
go to watch the Dodgers win
Have yourself a dandy day
that cost you under a fin
Hair was short and skirts were long
Kate Smith really sold a song
I don't know just what went wrong
those were the days

Another that made it his life’s work to insult the goyim, while simultaneously getting rich off them. Early life checks out. Small hats from Russia around the turn of the century. Same with Spielberg.

Father Coughlin inspired him to hate the goyim, Father Coughlin sounds like a wise man.
