So I was watching an old episode of "All in the Family" the other day. By the way I love the show and its a shame a show like that could never be produced in today's America. Howver, that is another issue for another time. So Archie in this episode was having a discussion with ultra liberal Michael. They were discussing baseball and it went something like this:
Archie: Well you I like that Jackie Robinson guy but you know...that whole color barrier thing...
Michael: What are you trying to say that blacks should be able to compete with white people the supposed superior race?
Archie; No no. That's not what I meant. Blacks can jump higher and run faster so they belong.
That quote my friends pretty much sums up what the caste system is up against. If a bigot such as Archie Bunker who could give a crap about black people thinks they're better than whites in athletics, then what? And this was all the way back in the early 70s where the NBA and NFL were way more white. This is the kind of upward struggle white guys have got to go through in athletics.
