Normally I couldn't care less if two bruthas go at it. However, Hopkins is implying whites are soft in his latest rant that attacks Donovan McNabb. This guy is a psycho.

<h2 ="title">Bernard Hopkins: McNabb isn't tough enough or black enough</h2> By MJD</span></span>

<div ="bd">

Donovan McNabb(notes)</span>
probably didn't wake up thinking he'd get blindsided in the media
Wednesday with possibly the most vicious comments he's ever heard.

And there probably also weren't a lot of people that anticipated Bernard Hopkins, just days before one of the biggest fights in his storied boxing career, ruthlessly laying into McNabb.

That's exactly what happened, though. Hopkins, a Philadelphia guy and
avid Eagles fan, invited the press to a workout Tuesday. He was asked
about Michael Vick(notes)</span> playing for his hometown Eagles, and Hopkins went off on McNabb in a brutal, racial way. Here's a snippet from Marcus Hayes at Philly.com:

<blockquote>

According to Hopkins, McNabb had a privileged childhood
in suburban Chicago and, as a result, is not black enough or tough
enough, at least compared with, say, himself, Michael Vick and Terrell Owens(notes).</span>

"Forget this," Hopkins said, pointing to his own dark skin. "He's got a suntan. That's all."

Hopkins also implied that, while Vick and Owens remained true to
their roots, McNabb did not, and that McNabb was rudely awakened when
the Eagles traded him to the Redskins last year.

"Why do you think McNabb felt he was betrayed? Because McNabb is the
guy in the house, while everybody else is on the field. He's the one who
got the extra coat. The extra servings. 'You're our boy,' " Hopkins
said, patting a reporter on the back in illustration. "He thought he was
one of them."
</blockquote>

For more context on the "house vs.field" thing Hopkins is talking about, you can peruse this Wikipedia entry (strong language present there) or read the original quote from Malcolm X.

It's not the first time Bernard Hopkins has ripped into McNabb, either. He did it back in 2007 when he said McNabb didn't have Jeff Garcia's heart, and again in 2008, when he said McNabb wouldn't sacrifice to win and had no killer instinct. Last year, he said he was going to have a party celebrating McNabb leaving Philadelphia.

Some people believe this all stems from an incident where Hopkins showed up to an Eagles team function and McNabb snubbed him.

Nothing that's happened between the two in the past comes close to
Hopkins' most recent comments, though. Those cross entirely different
lines.

Through his publicist, McNabb already said about the only thing he
could say -- that he won't have any response to Hopkins' comments.

I know a lot of people on this site might not agree with me, but McNabb has had a hall-of-fame career. Vick has had maybe two good season so far.

I wonder how soft he thought whites were the night Joe Calzaghe made him look foolish. I guess someone hasn't gotten over it. If whites are soft, and he was beaten by a white, what does that make him?

Hopkins was beaten and beaten decisively when he fought Calzaghe. However, that scumbag will never admit it. His ridiculous ego makes him think he won that fight, and he stated so right after it. Word is that McNabb didn't want to talk to Hopkins at the Eagles training facility.

Flopkins was definitely implying Whites are "soft" by his shot at McNabb. Let's see that punk climb in the ring with the Brothers KlitschKO or in the cage with Fedor or Lesnar...he'd be utterly obliterated.

What bothers me is the fact that Popkins is allowed to say anything he wants about whites. He's called Calzaghe a "whiteboy," said that Tomasz Adamek is a "robotic whiteboy," made fun of the Klitschko's, and now this. Clearly another shot at white people.

Could somebody tell me when the last inner city qb has led his team to an NFL title? I'm thinking maybe it's Jim Plunkett? This is pure Hopkins bs...

If McNabb were white we would be comparing him to Steve DeBerg and there would be no mention of him being a HOF'er. He doesn't even have a ring to bolster his numbers. He also doesn't have a reputation for last minute comebacks or for being clutch in big moments, it's actually the opposite.

All he has is his blackness. He can say, 'Look, I put up all these stats without a white mans IQ, without a white man's accuracy & without a white man's self-discipline/work ethic.' And that is his best argument for induction into the HOF.

I agree. Some blacks always have to be called "great" by the media and DWF's even if they are only average. I think Warren Moon is extremely over rated as well. He was good yes, but not a HOF qb in my opinion.

So Cal
I am hoping Pascal puts Flopkins to sleep or his corner throws in the towel. This malcontent needs a good beating. All Pascal needs to do in this fight is increase his cardio/stamina.

Also, I believe Doug Williams was the last and only black QB to win a SB back in 1988 with the Redskins.

I do not care what Hopkins thinks of white people. He does have a fitting nickname though, "The Executioner." That would be execution by lethal injection. He had a couple watchable fights against De La Hoya and Trinidad, smaller older fighters moving up, but most of his fights were bore fests. Trying to sit through any of his many generic safety first UD 12 wins over the years was like dying by lethal injection. My eyes would slowly close and I would drift off into oblivion. I just wish he could go away already.

Unfortunatley, like most bores, Hopkins doesn't realize he is one, and, like most bores, he is hanging around way too long.

Once Hopkins is done boxing no one will remember him, besides the jewish media. Sounds like he's jealous of Donavon for actually trying to conduct himself as a decent human being and not embrace the "hood" in him. Same thing with Jalen Rose calling out Grant Hill for being "too white".
So sick of hearing these illiterate imbeciles running their mouths, the majority of America does not want to hear a washed up has been's opinion. BTW I loved seeing Calzaghe tear up Hopkins

Hopkins is the biggest piece of s-it on the planet but I'll give him credit. He's in his mid 40's and still fighting well against much younger fighters. BTW, isn't Grant Hill part white?

NFL-reference lists players that other players are most like for a career based on their statistics. Here are the ones for McNabb: Mark Brunell, Steve McNair, Terry Bradshaw*, Jim Kelly*, Troy Aikman*, Boomer Esiason, Roger Staubach*, Drew Bledsoe, Ken Stabler, Bob Griese*. Some are in the Hall of Fame, some not. No question a black QB will get in with his stats however. I see that he is in the top 20 in most main catagories for passers, yards, TDs, rating, that sort of thing. So a good case can be made that he is deserving. However, I agree, that if he was white, with no SB wins, it would be iffy.
