The only reason I can see to promoting a second fullback to the roster is that the Packers intend to use Ripkowski as a running back. This would be good news.

Ripkowski gained Rodgers' trust, their O is in danger, Rodgers has 0 WR, 0 TE, 0 RB to trust, furthermore he has no faith in Thompson now. Few weeks ago some idiot media thought it was AR to blame, now overturned. In recent weeks Ripkowski showing the reason teamates/fans like him, nice blocking skill/effort plus running yards gained (good size), and "proven hands" to catch.

After seeing Ripkowski run (with yards gained), you starting wonder how Packers wasting their picks for Lacy-Starks.

Such has been the way of the NFL for a couple generations. The White power back was traditionally one of the best offensive weapons teams had, but the last ones to be featured were Larry Csonka and John Riggins. Mike Alstott came close but had to share carries with little Warrick Dunn. Peyton Hillis had one memorable season thanks to injuries and Eric Mangini being fair, the extremely rare outlier.

Maybe the upcoming "Trumpening of America" will allow for strides to be made in exposing and then smashing the large number of "deplorables" who created and sustain the Caste System. For now pray for the continuing decline of TV ratings.

Nick Mangold was released today. He has been a steady rock at center for the team for a decade. If he were playing a glamour position I would think he would be near lock hall of fame member but centers generally need more off season hardware to get their gold jackets than skill position players.......http://www.espn.com/nfl/

Hopefully he won't end up with the Blackhawks. They have been looking for a good center ever since they traded Unger.

You wonder, in this age of intolerance, if Mangold's support of Trump had something to do with his release.

If it did it should be considered a blessing in disguise. Mangold is best player on NYJ at this point and his new AA HC is clearly in over his head. My guess him being cut had more to do with being an undervalued white center rather than his political ideology, but who knows!

Would like to see him here in Miami. Would be an upgrade over Pouncey since Pouncey can't seem to stay on the field (ever notice how these affletes always seem to be extremely injury prone?) Even if Mangold is just a stopgap, it will signal the end of Mike Pouncey's tenure in Miami which can't come soon enough.

This is a great fit Tannehill 17. Pouncey cant stay healthy so having an all pro center like Mangold would give Tannehill extra help. I hope they sign him.

Eagles cut Connor Barwin. He should have no trouble finding a new team, but it's just sad when you think about it... Barwin outperforms his teammate Brandon Graham year in and year out, yet Graham is heralded as a great pass rusher, and one of the best players on the defense, and Barwin gets cut...

Same crap that happened to Danny Woodhead when he was a rookie with the Jets. He breaks the pre-season rushing record and gets cut to keep irrelevant black scrub RB Joe McNight. Happens year after year no matter what position.

Right. Barwin accumulated more sacks in 4 years with the Eagles (31.5) than Graham has in his entire 7 year career (29), and Graham is actually being paid more...
How do you explain that? The NFL is very fortunate that most of its fan base is stupid, because if people start waking up and asking questions, it's all coming down....
