I believe Smith will give Canelo some problems in the beginning. But Canelo's class will show its self and stop Smith late in the fight. Perhaps in rds 8 or 9.

After Canelo's victory the pressure will mount on him to "stop f*cking around" and to actually put pen to paper and sign to fight the greatest fighter of the current era in GGG.

I can't really blame Canelo to question his ability against GGG, but what I do question is his sh*t talking about getting in the ring with him.

Yes, I thought Smith would go the distance and then all of sudden his punch resistance went south from taking the beating from Canelo. With the obvious weight issues Canelo has at 154 I suspect if the pesos are right Canelo and GGG might meet next fall after all. As a marketing gimmick GGG could be going for the title defense record that Hopkins holds. The purses for both fighters should be solidly in the 8 figures.

Reviewed this fight. 1st Alvarez is a A tier fighter. Right now Smith is a B- fighter. Kudos for a game and courageous effort from Smith. But Smith needs to hire a top notch strength and condition coach. He looked soft in this fight. That body shot by Alvarez to end the fighter could not be more perfect. I say in May 2017 the GGG vs Canelo fight will happen. It will be epic with GGG with the late and hard fought KO.
