If anyone has any spare time, don't forget to vote for your favorite white platers in the all star game, especially in the American League where 7 of 8 starting positions belong to a Yankee or a Red Sox

(the lone non-NY or BOS player is Vlad Guerrero). Ortiz is leading the first baseman votes when we all know Jim Thome is the most deserving (If you're gonna start a DH at 1B, it has to be Thome!) In the NL, some outfielders are in need of votes as Jim Edmonds is the only white in the top 5 vote getters.. I know Aaron Rowand is in striking distance of Bonds so he could use some votes too! Troy Glaus is another white player who is deserving. Don't forget to vote, the way to get white players name's out there is to get them to the all star game..

Ozzie Guillen is the American League manager so he'll take Thome if he can. That gives you a chance to vote for someone else. Travis Haffner and Paul Konerko(3rd at the moment) have better stats than Chris Shelton. My OF in AL was C. Blake, K.Mench, and S. Podsednik. In the NL it was J. Bay, A. Dunn, and A. Rowand.

Yeah Casey Blake is definitly a guy I'll be voting for. He's your typical Iowa farm boy with great values and even a better man. When the Cleveland press and fans were all over him last year for having a bad season he never complained or said anything negative towards anyone. He has a love for the game and plays hard. Also he's a terrific athlete(although the media will never tell ya that) having made a great conversion last year from 3B to OF, a position he never had played before. He has had a great season thus far and deserves to be commended for it.

Hey Travis Hafner didn't make the team and he's 2nd(behind Pujols) in baseball's most important stat OPS. Which for all you who don't know what that is it is slugging % + on base %. So not only does Hafner crush the ball he hits .318 he also draws the most walks in the AL and still gets screwed over. i like Pierzinsky but Hafner was definitly more deserving to go to the All Star game. Hafner has over 100+ RBI each of the last 3 three seasons(assuming he'll get it this year which is a given) and he still has no All Star game to show for all of his great production. Now thats a shame!

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cleveland Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner became the first player in major league history to hit five grand slams before the All-Star break when he connected in the second inning against Baltimore on Friday night...

Lou Gehrig (1934), Sid Gordon (1950), Gentile (1961) and Jim Northrup (1968) all hit four grand slams before the All-Star break.

The fans have always done a horrendous job of all-star voting. I recall guys like Dave Lopes, for example, being voted in as a starter in years when he was batting around .209. It just wasn't always so racially based as it is now- Cal Ripken was one of the few white fan favorites during the '80s-'90s, and he was voted the starting SS almost every year, even though greats like Robin Yount and Alan Trammall usually had much better stats. The jock-sniffing "journalists" have forever defended all the idiotic mistakes made by fans (numerous times voting in players who'd been injured much or all of that season, for instance) by saying "the managers will make up for that when they name the reserves." This is just not true. Every year, someone deserving is left off an all-star team completely, while at least one less deserving reserve is named in place of him. Billy Martin was especially bad at this, yet no "journalist" ever criticized him (or any other all-star manager) for their glaring oversights. As for this year's voting, I'm just amazed that Barry Bonds isn't starting. That's almost as surprising as the leading HR hitter in baseball (Jim Thome) not participating in the home run derby. Do we know if there is any explanation for this (injury, etc.) other than obvious racial discrimination? Can you imagine what would happen if the leading HR hitter were black or hispanic, and they were not invited to the home run derby? I think you'd be seeing a whole bunch of visibly upset white clowns on ESPN and sports talk radio shows, demanding to know the reasons behind it.
