Actually, I will say that Josh Smith's jump over Kenyon Martin
has been overrated. He didn't jump right over him; he was a
little bit to one side. His left foot would've hit Martin's shoulder
if he jumped directly over him. (I guess he was being
conservative because he didn't want to knee Martin in the face
like Henry Bekkering did to a seated Brian Bosworth when he
tried to jump over him!

) Also, his "free throw" dunk- if
that's what he was trying to do- was well in front of the free
throw line. But I thought his last two dunks were good.
As for Andersen, he's a decent shot blocker and rebounder.
He doesn't have a lot of offensive skills. Honestly, I doubt we'd
be very impressed by him if he were black. Sorry if that
offends anyone. I prefer white players who I would respect
even if they were black, like Kirilenko, Dirk, and Nash.
Back to his slam dunk contest performance: the worst part
about it is not that he was out-jumped, but that he was
out-smarted. He showed neither good sense nor creativity in
the dunks he picked. David Lee showed that you can win one
of these exhibitions by being more creative than your
opponent, rather than a better leaper, when he won the
MacDonalds high school slam dunk contest a few years ago.
Given that Andersen can't jump as high as Smith, he needed to
be more creative to win.
