when it gets a little closer to the season, i'll put together my AA teams... but you did quite a job, GLS!

that high school team in Winter Park, Florida must be something, huh?

also, Spencer Hawes just had a "minor" knee surgery, so it is unclear how long he will be out...

i'd like to see a "most athletic" team... i'm guessing Devendorf, Budinger, McRoberts, Downs, Haluska, etc. would offer some caste-breaking highlights. Haluska is one of my favorite players! he was a phenomenal sprinter/jumper in high school, winning a State Championship in the 100, 200, 400, and long jump as a senior!

Haluska should be a top five scorer in the Big Ten, with all Iowa lost to
graduation, and ditto Neitzel at MSU.

GLS, i think you are right on the money. their teams both lost a ton of talent, so they will both be counted on heavily to carry the scoring load. how do you see Devendorf stepping up at Syracuse now that McNamara has graduated? is he ready?

I think Devendorf will lead Syracuse in scoring. I've been watching Eric
since he was 14, and he's always been able to pile up the points.

Another guy whose #s will go up because of graduation is Nardi at
Villanova, especially now that he's playing his natural pg position.

I second the motion good job GLS. Drew Viney, is he white? I thought not but not entirely sure. Looks part black to me. Looking forward to the season. On NBAdraft.net they wrote a scouting report on Haluska and gave him a 7 out of 10 on athleticism. Meanwhile countless black players have received 9's and 10's. Go friggen figure.

The more photos I see of Viney, he may be. I was thrown off by his SAT
score.

I don't know if he has the all-around game for it, but Haluska is prototype
NBA with size and athleticism.

Some random comments on these guys ...

Lorenzo Romar has said even though Washington lost some big-time
athletes, they'll still be go-go on offense because of how Hawes runs.

Grant Stout was the leading rebounder and shot-blocker in everyone's
favorite mid-major league last year.

If Blake Ahearn leads the country in ft% again, he'll be the first player to
even lead the nation in a statistical category four years in a row.

Steven Hill will play in the NBA on defense alone.

Joe Reitz is really a center, at like 270 pounds.

Dane Bradshaw is a former point guard, and may now be the best 6-4
rebounder in the country.

Bryan Mullins was top 10 in the country in steals as a freshman.

Matt Bouldin was a two-time Mr. Basketball in Colorado, and considered
the best prospect from the state since Chauncey Billups.

David Kool is the first Mr. Basketball from Michigan to sign with a MAC
school.
