I found a comment posted at -Amren- which fits in very well with this thread. It was in response to a story about Bush's 2% disapproval rating among blacks.
These idiots! Who cares about the black vote?! Somewhere between 25-50% of black males, depending on the district, can't vote anyway because of their felony convictions, or so I've read. They're at most 12% of the population anyway, have never voted conservative, and the stupid Republicans don't seem to understand that by "reaching out" and toadying to the meaningless and statisically irrelevant "black vote", they just alienate people like me. They ought to go hunting where the ducks are, the imbeciles. There's 200 million of us, for god's sake.
Same with advertising: if I see a black drinking, wearing, eating or driving in some brand name, I write it off immediately as I don't want to be associated with their tastes and culture. I wonder if the liberal advertising execs ever stop to calculate how much white business they drive away with their diversity-laden ads. How much white business do they think they attract showing blacks in ads? Is a picture of some black in a Hathaway shirt likely to make you run out and buy one? How about some blacks in a Cadillac - that's real power marketing, isn't it? Going to drink more Colt .45? Smoke more Cools? Want to buy a watermelon?
My own idiot company's ads show black financial advisors sitting across the desk from affluent white clients. How often do you think that happens? They've spent their entire life working, saving, and building for their future - and now they're going to listen to a black tell them how to invest it?! Sure....Do you have any idea how many blacks can pass the NASD/NYSE Series 7 exam to become stockbrokers? Care to hazard a guess? I'll help you: About as many as there are ace fighjer pilots and world-class yachtsmen.
