Glad to see Thielen show up and lead the Vikings in receiving last night. A truly improbable scenario for an undrafted player out of Minnesota State. There are hundreds of "Adam Thielens" throughout America who couldn't get D-1 scholarships because of their race.

...and hundreds of Danny Woodheads, JJ Watts', Luke Kuechlys, etc., that can't even get noticed by D3 schools. Ever caught an NAIA game? Some of the teams (see Brandon Wegher's thread) are really, really good, with outstanding WHITE players, but NOBODY from NAIA ever makes the NFL. Has something to do with it being separate from the NCAA and the leverage that NCAA has.

Thielen alluding to the (blatant) discrimination he's faced his entire football career when it comes to perceptions and opportunities is all a White athlete is allowed to say.

Rule number one of the U.S. power structure: Whites do not exist as a race except in negative ways. Because of past and present "evils" it is impossible for Whites to be racially oppressed and a White person can never be shown sympathy for racial reasons, for to do so is itself an act of "racism."

As I have said here numerous times. I as well as a certain member of my family was told directly, in person, to our face by several D-1 coaches that they would not recruit a white RB!

Despite the following measureables: 3,053 yards rushing/275 att./ 11.1 yds/carry, JR. Year. 5'11/205lbs.

4.5/40, 4.1/shuttle, 27 BP reps, 4.1 GPA! All State RB.

Played in the largest high school division in N.C. High School football!

I have relative that was a HS running back that was basically told the same thing. If he were black he would have had literally dozens of D-I scholarship offers. His size and speed measurables were off the charts - record breaking in track and field. He got exactly zero D-I offers.
