Aaron Gray - Center

great story!

he is the rarest of commodities in the college game--a true center. it's sad that he gets so little attention from the press. they all seem to be in love with krauser. but the guy is a monster in the paint.

Also interesting he had to do the opposite of most young big men -- lose
weight instead of gain it, never as fun!

He's gotten much better over the course of the season, and is one of the top player in the Big East in my opinion. I became most impressed with him after he had a very solid game against UConn with all their size. He's projected as a first rd pick in 2007, so it'll be nice to see how this guy develops next year too, where he could be an All American at the college level if he continues to improve at this pace.

Aaron was the ONLY reason that Pitt beat West Virginia. He was a beast in the paint, scoring at will on offense and disrupting shots and blocking them on defense.

Gray made the Big East's all conference team. Six of the eleven players named to the first team are white! In addition to Gray the others are Marquette F Steve Novak, Notre Dame G Chris Quinn, Syracuse G Gerry McNamara, West Virginia G Mike Gansey, and West Virginia C Kevin Pittsnogle.

The Big East. How things change! Was there any major conference more blacker than the big east 10 years ago?

Not only that, it's generally regarded as the best conference in the country. This is akin to the SEC in football having a majority white all-conference team on offense and defense.

I would still give props to the ACC as being the best basketball conference on a year in and year out basis. But the Big East is pretty talented and loaded this year. They have four teams capable of making it to the Final Four. UConn,Villanova, West Virginia and suprising Pittsburgh.

I meant this year specifically, it's definitely loaded.

BTW, Gray is the first white player from Pitt to make the all-Big East team.

I've been so stuck on Gonzaga in recent years that at times I haven't paid attention to some of the power conferences because of their lack of white players particularly the Big East.Never heard of this guy, but thanks once again to all you guys for the news.Maybe these conferences like the the Big East,ACC and maybe the SEC have turned the corner on their recruiting habits.

Gray had 14 points and 13 rebounds last night in pitts win over Loisville.

Gray went from being a slow-developing nobody as a freshman into a prospect who may be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft, but the drunk white fans and Pittsburgh sports journalists hated him his entire career. Every failure by Pitt was blamed on Gray. After being ousted from the NCAA tournament the other day, this writer took a final shot at him, which details some of the irrational invective directed at Gray by the white fans who can always be counted on to slam white athletes:

Boy oh Boy, that was sickening.

I like this quote from this piece of Sh*t "writer" too.

But there's a cavernous disconnect between what many coaches say about Gray, the supportive testimony of his public image, and what he looks like to the unindoctrinated, the people from whom he is largely insulated.

Time out here..who is indoctrinated?????

I can't believe the brain wash job that has been done to our very own people. If I wasn't expecting it, I would say it was amazing..
