The reason I created this thread about Barber is b/c he was very encouraging to Sean Bennett, a white RB, and if more black athletes were like him we wouldn't have nearly as strong of a caste system. I am also a huge Giant fan and know a lot about him, he was valedictorian of his H.S class also.

I just think it is helpful to our cause to "once" give credit to this rare breed of black athlete who was a true professional (not insulting to the white athlete) and also a good and charitable human being. In a way I was pointing out how so "few" black professional athletes conduct themselves this way, and am hopeful that any blacks who hit this site as "cynics" would see what we respect in an athlete. Maybe these blacks would get the idea of why we are so angry. There are few black athletes that are professional "team players" the way Barber is.

As for him having an IQ of close to 200, to be a member of MENSA the smartest 1% you have to have an IQ of 200 If I'm not mistaken. There are more people out there that exist than you think, although still few, with IQ's of 200. I remember getting tested in grade 6 for IQ and scoring a 178 as a member of the "gifted and talented" students club which you had to have an IQ above 150 to be asked to join by the teacher who ran it. My IQ score would be much lower now because I am not well read (the test gets harder with age increase) due to struggling more with my auditory processing problem. I remember that there were people in the club who didn't come across as brilliant. An IQ is the result of a test, it doesn't prove you could come up with the equation for time travel like Einstein. I have one extended family member who is a member of MENSA actually.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

You are mistaken.

Comparison of IQ Tests

As different IQ tests were developed, each was given its own scoring system. Therefore, an IQ of 150 is a meaningless claim unless you know the actual test which was used. In order to compare one IQ test against another, the scores are converted to 'percentiles', i.e. where a person's score falls in comparison to the rest of the population by percentage. Mensa offers membership to anyone whose IQ score places them within the top two per cent of the population, no matter which approved test was used.

A top 2% mark in any of these frequently used tests below qualifies you for entry to Mensa. The minimum test mark to get into Mensa is:

Cattell III B - 148

Culture Fair - 132

Ravens Advanced Matrices - 135

Ravens Standard Matrices - 131

Wechsler Scales - 132
[/list]

Could I make a suggestion TJR? You can personally like whomever you
want, but in terms of posting here you should limit your posts to topics
the other members on the site are interested in, namely white athletes.
Few blacks show up here and most just throw a few bombs and then
leave.

If the purpose of your admiration of Barber is to hold him up for the
purpose of role modeling to other blacks, pick a board far more
frequented by blacks, of which you have many to choose. I'm not here to
read about Tiki Barber, and I can guarantee you that almost no one else is
either.

Whatever fine qualities he possesses, I'm sure they are far more lauded
and appreciated than is proportionate to their merit in the mainstream
press. Thanks for the Tiki Update. Having said that, we like your other
contributions here. Now, can we get back to business?

How hard is it to simply ignore a thread whos title clearly denotes what it is about?

Not hard at all. But why bother? It's a posting forum.

I'm not interested in "ignoring" threads. Should we also ignore threads posted by trolls?

Blacks and whites who support the Caste System have an infinite number of boards on which to state their undying respect for Tiki Barber, Tiger Woods, and whoever else. Barber for the most part conducts himself well, and the system has rewarded him exceptionally well for that, as the corporate networks were throwing themselves at his feet to compete for his services.

There are hundreds of white athletes just as deserving of being "toasted" -- why Tiki Barber but not them? Maybe we can start a "one of my best friends is a Negro" thread next. Caste Football hasa coherent message and a coherent mission, and being a pale imitation of blackathlete.com is not among them. Edited by: Don Wassall

Guys, he's probably just a Giants fan. I don't know if it was appropriate to toast Tiki on this site(you could of done that on the Giants or general NFL site). Honestly, I would be more comfortable having dinner with Tiki than I would with Shockey though. I shouldn't, but I've been conditioned to see it that way. What if Shockey got drunk and I pissed him off? Tiki, doesn't have that image which is why he is a great god of football. The tough players never get the same hype about their "class."

Nothing against Tiki, but lets talk about some white players.

Most IQ stats are bullsh*t.

OK, I see the point about what the forum is for, I won't be posting anymore "toasts" to black athletes. I will only post about blacks if it is for an altercation with a white athlete, comments made to mock a white's athleticism or a black who makes a roster over a better white player. Being a Giant fan who is going to miss reading about Tiki's contributions to the team and community got to me!

What white athlete do blacks toast?

Actually, a lot. I see plenty of blacks wearing Unitas, Bird, Manning, Urlacher, and Nash jerseys.

Maybe they're gang colors.
smiley36.gif

Have you ever tried discussing a black person's jersey with them? I have on numerous occasions. With the exception of one guy who wore a Jerome Brown jersey, they are surprisingly ignorant about the history of the player (white or black) that the jersey represents. I think the manufactures realized this and started sewing patches on the bottom of the throwback jerseys with a brief bio of the player. It's like a little cheat sheet.

Outside of gangs, I think blacks also wear NFL/NBA jerseys to promote the leagues that they are proud of. And why shouldn't they. Blacks are under the delusion that they are the best athletes in the world because of the NFL and NBA.

As for Tiki, I found him working at his office the other day. I wanted to help him enjoy his snack so I sang him a little song.

See how it turned out.Edited by: C Darwin

Riggins..keep posting on whatever topic you feel like posting about. I don't see anything wrong with posting something positive about Tiki Barber or any other black athlete that's deserving. We certainly have plenty of posts on this site that points out the negatives in certain black athletes and rightfully so. But there are plenty of people that come to this site on a daily basis and make their decision about us right away..I would prefer that they see a occasional post that praises a minority when it's warranted than not see it at all and have a poster in good standing flamed for doing so. I am sure that much like Riggins, I will be flamed too for saying all of that. I don't give a #%&*.

Especially for you Reb. It's much easier to go with the flow around here than to say something different. You chose the easy route.
I was told twice by the site moderator here that it is good to have differences of opinion at Caste Football and to have moderating influences around here to maintain a "balanced" perspective at this site. Is that still true? The "damn them all" mentality around here gets us nowhere.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think censorship and drinking
the Wassall kool-aide is the issue here. I also would prefer to see an
occasional post that praises a minority when it's warranted. And
there are. Don has been posting the Whitlock articles on the
homepage of CF. If a black does or says anything to help end white
discrimination, or calls out the cast system in the sports or media,
someone here is all over it.

I think people are just asking if Tiki has done anything special to
further the cause of CFers? Is his toast warranted? IMO, no. Either
way, toasting a black RB on this site is ironic and being critical of the
post is something a CF member should feel free to do.

If I'm going to toast a black athlete it's going to be TO. Yes that TO.
Nobody needs to remind me of his behavior and alliance with Sol
Rosenberg or what ever his agent's name is. I feel he is a martyr for
our cause. As everyone remembers, TO broke a cardinal rule of the
caste system: Never publicly question the ability of caste heroes.
McNabb's ability and heart were regularly criticized by TO and it was
caught on tape. TO paid a heavy price in the media. I think most of
us remember the media being in "Imus mode" with its condemnation
of TO. After it was all said and done, he went from (arguably) the
best player on the field in the Super Bowl, to the second receiver on
a mediocre team. And why? Do you really think his behavior in the
locker room was unprecedented? I believe that the only unique thing
that TO did was criticize the Rosa Parks of the NFL.

BARTENDER!!! Pour me a Hennessy and Red Bull. I'm drinkin' to TO. Edited by: C Darwin

Man F*uck Tiki Barber. He is just another proud to be black type. He is a conceited piece of sh*t. He is just pretending to like the white man so he can make his money.

I think it's pretty clear to me, as well as visitors to the site, that Caste Football is not open minded enough to be ever accepted by more people. Refusing to give credit to blacks while stereotyping them is hypocrisy. The site seeks to dispel white stereotypes, yet many members of this board continually engage in negative stereotyping of blacks. These same people cannot seem to accept a thread like this, which is nothing more than a complimentary piece to a good man who in his playing days offered praise for a very rare white RB.

No, Caste Football is not open-minded, like any web site or even
magazine or newspaper is not open-minded. Not all topics are covered.
Just like you wouldn't look in a Barron's magazine for cooking recipes or
ways to insulate your house, or at Sports Illustrated for political coverage
or vacation and travel hotspots to visit, neither should you look here for
pro-black information and opinions.

Yes, lots of people who post here are not sympathetic to the black cause.
Refusing to give credit to blacks while stereotyping them is not hypocrisy,
its actually very consistent. I guess you mean that whites are treated here
better than blacks. Oh well, life is unfair. If you want the opposite, you
can look...well, you can look everywhere! Pandering to blacks is
pandemic in our ridiculous society these days. If a site like this were to
be full of pro-black idol worship, I wouldn't be visiting here. Lots of
people are turned off by the 24/7 black pandering and idol worship too,
or don't you know that? What are we supposed to do, shut ourselves up,
disconnected from society and each other while anti-white stereotypes
are allowed to run rampant and black idol worshp is shoved down our
throats 24/7? C'mon! Why do I have to like these people? Why can't I
like whomever I want?

You have absolutely no idea whether or not this guy is such a wonderful
person. All you know is what you read in the media. And isn't it amazing
that ol' TB is so roundly lionized everywhere you go? If anything, its just
another example of the pro-black bias of the media, that all you hear is
how wonderful this guy is while you hear absolutely nothing about all the
highly intellegent white guys who play the game and conduct themsleves
with class. The last black running back I can think of who was so lionized
and coddled by the mainstream media, who appeared in lots of
commercials, as a broadcaster, and was even given roles in Hollywood,
was OJ Simpson. Ever heard of him? Did you ever read anything negative
about him before he killed his ex-wife and her boyfriend? What about the
great Jim Brown, perennial felon and white hater? Yet he was the media
darling in the sixties.

Can't you even come up with one white football player who exhibits these
qualities you profess to admire? Why not? Having a hard time finding out
who they are? Why is that? Could it be that the media won't cover that
angle? Where are you supposed to go to find out about them, and to hear
about all the bad stuff the blacks do that the media covers up or
rationalizes away?

That's why there is Caste Football.Edited by: PitBull
